Hi im looking to spend about 4-700 to upgrade the rotors on my 07 tl-s. i was thinking maybe rotora? any suggestions on what i can get. i plan on using duramax gold ceramic pads. also caliper suggestions? dont need anything more then stock performance maybe a little more. i am more going for the look of it approach. also this may sound dumb but how do i tell if i have brembo brakes or not?

 

If you have a type-s or MT car you have brembo's on the car. That said I am running the Rotora rotors and their ceramic pads (H2) and they look and perform great. I think they are also in your price range. Atleast for the front rotors.

 

Thanx for the help bro. What color calipers came with that kit and where can I find these online? HT seemed to only have it for non brembo tl. Reason I ask is I like my stock acura calipers but wouldn't mind putting a nice all red caliper on there

 

Also how is.brake dust with those rotors. My stock ones are so bad with dust it actually gets on my rear fender

 

That wasn't a kit - just rotors and pads.

If you want Red calipers, you can either paint what you've got (like so: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/d-097-diy-painting-factory-brembos-red-white-acura-logo-640092/), or go with a BBK, but that'll run at least a couple of grand.

If you've got $700 for rotors alone, check out the 2-piece rotors that are avaiable (much lighter & better cooling). From Racing Brake and maybe others.

 

Thanx bearcat I think ill check the rotors kit and paint mine red. A couple grand is a little steep to spend on brakes when I don't need added performance. Maybe one day......

these rotors are nice im thinking about the same thing for my type s the break dust is so nasty.

 

Are there still 2piece rotors out there to fit the stock sized brembos?

 

probably best 2 piece rotor racing brake with et500 pads!!! run triple milles against stock pads!!

 

i got a 2008 TLS MT and i just got the xlr8 acurazine stoptech package in the mail. Very good price and solid upgrade from factory. I was looking for the same thing in your price range. Going to install them tomm heres the link. 4 slotted rotors and stoptech pads for front and rear.

btw im going to just repaint my OE calipers a gloss black to match the front. Or maybe red i havnt decided yet.
