Arrow Window Tinting - Central New Jersey

Any recommendations on a good reputable tint shop in the or near central NJ. If you could also write what brand of film they use and the quote you got(if you had work done there), I'd really appreciate it.

The Tint Shop in Edison, # (732) 650-9100 Very good tinter. Never had any problems with any of there jobs. The use Sunscape and Madico Tint.

Tint Tech in East Brunswick, # (732) 763-1404 Had him tint my TL and I'm very satisfied. Uses Global Window Films. $240 for all back and side windows, a tint strip on the windshield and the moonroof all in 20%

I know it is illegal to have the windshield and side windows tinted in new jersey, but if I request it from the tint shop will they do it? I just want some light tinting, maybe around 45-50% on all windows.

Windshield, they may not do....but on all the other windows you can get any tint you want and they'll do it guaranteed

that's where i went. Guy did a good job. Just make sure he can do the strip in the rear window section. He messed up on mine, and after i drove it off the lot, he didn't want to fix it.

Are you planing on tinting the front side windows as well? If you are what percentage will you do? I plan on getting my windows tinted as well, but I'm not sure if I should tint the front.....being it's illegal here in Jersey and all .

The cops dont really mind as long as they can see thru the window. My bros truck has all his windows tinted (except the windshield) and me and him have been pulled over countless times and they have never said anything about that (knock on wood). He has 35% on it.

Awesome, thanks sunny....35% uh? I might play it safe and go with 20%. Cops in East Windsor are really bored and @$$holes.

blazinginder- let us know where you ended up going and how good the place was..... good luck

BTW 20% is darker than 35%. They measure the % by how much light it lets through. 35% is the factory tint percentage that come on cars (the rears). I personally dont like seeing a car that had two different tint shades, but thats IMO. Im most likely going to get mine done within two weeks, and Im getting 35% so cops dont harass me for no reason, even though they probably will because im 18, but I cant really complain because it is illegal in the first place.

Just letting you know 20% is darker than 35% (lower the % = darker the tint)

You're in east windsor...thats right next door to me WW-P ..but yeah I'm kind of indecisive right now...I'm thinkin numerous different combos...but in any case the rear will be 20% or darker being that I dont like being seen if in the back seat

Heres what I'm thinking...
Front Sides/Rear Sides/Rear windshield

None 20 20
35 20 20
20 20 20
35 5 20
20 5 20

what do you guys think ?

So that's why I kept getting pulled over, I had 20% on my previous car...and all this time I thought the lower the % the lighter the tint.. ....... Thanks sunny and blazinginder....

"I dont like being seen if in the back seat " ....you dawg...LOL

Princeton.....we're like neighbors.....

I think you should go with ....35 20 20....
I will most likely be doing the same....right after I install my AEM CAI this weekend.....
I'll check some local shops in our area and see what the scoop.....
I'm new to this area so I'm not quite familiar with what's out here....

haha I like my privacy...don't like everyone being able to see everyone / everything inside my car...this is more so a day time issue...I'm tempted to just get limo tint (5%) for the rear sides and the rest 20% but am worried it wont look good at all due to the big difference in tint...

...w/e you do DON'T go to Sound Automotive (Hamilton, NJ) for tinting, I had my last car tinted there and IMO they didn't do a professional job, the spacing left at the top of the windows wasn't evenly lined up at all. There were minor bubbles in the some windows...after taking the car back to him a couple times and after he re-tinted two windows, I still wasn't satisfied and finally we came to an agreement that a $150 refund (paid $240 originally) would do it...so that was that...never going back there

...I'm looking into the Madico Advanced Ceramic high definition visibility film...being that its supposed to provide very good visibility which would help during night time driving...I'll be calling around and will let you know if I go with someone

Hey Guys, don't want to hijack the thread, but I'm wondering if any of you guys in NJ have had hassles with the police with tints.

I'd really like to get a light tint on my car but don't want any potential problems

I had I think it was either 35% or 50% on the front sides and 20% around the rear half on my last car and never had a problem...here's the thing if you're not doing anything wrong "officially" the cop can't pull you over just because of tints...but obviously cops do w/e they want and can make an excuse for pulling you over and then give you a ticket for the tints...so after realizing this after I got my last car tinted...I figure if you're going to tint the front windows, you might as well go for the tint % you want rather than going with a higher tint just to be safe, because they'll nab you either way if they're out to get you

if you look really really closely at the very last window, you'll see a lil strip that's not tinted. That's incorrect. The whole thing should be tinted. you'll have to slide it into the rubber part. It cost me...i think $240 total for Madico 35%.

yes and yes. W/ regards to the moleskin. I bought them online (i forgot where) and i installed it myself. Took a total of about 30 min. and that's taking my time, and cleaning each part before installing the moleskin so as to ensure that there was no dust/sand-like particles in the area. He does offer the moleskin option, i believe, for an extra $50? or so, but it's just not worth it. So much cheaper to do it yourself.

This is very weird how I've got price quotes that are very different...do you think I should be able to get Edison and Art, to come down in price, not necessarily match but come down a good bit...?

Madico Advance Ceramic
Tint Shop - Edison - $329
Myers(Ewing) - $169 (Not including Moleskin)

SunTek Carbon
Art of Tint - $350
Freehold Shop - $225 (Not including Moleskin)

I have a question regarding have a lot of you people had that strip on the side 1/4 windows tinted (I know some of have it untinted)...should the tint shop be able to tint that area (without removing the window etc.) by using a tool or something to slide the tint in ?

HOLY CR@P!!!
That's a big price difference.....Blazinginder, becareful...I think the famous quote "You get what you pay for!" applies here.

I'm waiting for this guy to call me back from a shop down in Marlborough right off of route 9 north.
I'll let you know what he has available....he's on vacation or somethin....

I'd like to know this also, I've seen a couple of cars with the 1/4 window tinted and it had the greyish look on the edges

Tint Tech in East Brunswick that tinted my car was able to tint the 1/4 windows without any special tools or problems and even did a great job on the DOT Matrix on the back window as well as the tint shtrip on the windshield. I bought a 100 ft. roll of Moleskin online and installed it on all 4 doors.

I'm down to TWO tint shops....The Tint Shop in Edison and The Art of Tint in NYC...both can do the 1/4 windows properly and do very good work from what I know / hear.

If I decide on 30% tint...I'll go with the Madico Advance Ceramic as it comes at darkest in MAC3000 which is 30%, from the Edison shop
($329 + cost of moleskin, which I can either buy and they'll put it in free or they can buy it and charge w/e they pay...probably try getting them down to $300 including moleskin)

If I go with a tint % than 30%...I'll probably go with the SunTek carbon from Art of Tint
($325 including moleskin...probably try bringing him down to $300)

gomezine...they didnt even know what moleskin was...and they don't guarantee that the film won't scratch due to normal window function...
