Does anybody know how much it cost to replace bad throttle body for 96 Acura TL 2.5? and a good shop in NJ or PA area that could do it?

I went to Acura dealership, and another shop and both told me the throttle body is bad. I was quoted $400 for parts and labor at auto shop in NJ.

My issue : car shifts crazy...slow from D1 to D2 to D3, i'm flooring the gas pedal and its taking it good ole time to shift. Its so sporadic tooo. . But once I'm D4 I'm good. It bothers me to no end and I'm scared I'll break down eventually if i don't get it fix.

 

I went to another shop today. They called Acura dealership and the throttle body assembly for the 96 Acura TL 2.5 is disconnected and not available anywhere in the US. I AT would have to take the risk of buying a used throttle body. I have no other options. This sucks!

 

you can get the part in the 80$ price range on ebay.

I dont think the install is difficult at all!

 

Thank you!! i took your advice. I got it for exactly $80 bucks from ebay...submitted an offer to Hondapartsunlimited junk yard in Cali. They accepted. My tps sensor was cracked something terrible.

I took it to a shop and got it install for 100 bucks. I'm back up and running again I would have done it myself but just don't have time since I'm at work all day.
