Hello all,

Its been a real DEAD year with ACURAZINE... No real meets like back in the day, alot of newbies, alot of people barely on AZ anymore.. Its just not the same as it was when I first joined.. Thats just life. People move on...

With all that said, We should host a ACURAZINE only meet to see all that has been done and new things/ideas for next year..

Obviously its getting cold and wet so lets try to do this soon.
I'm thinking meet (2-6) then dinner... We all know that splitting the dinner bill with a group of 20+ people really isn't that fun so for that, I would like to go somewhere where they wont bitch for splitting the bill into smaller groups, somewhere with a safe parking lot for our cars, a big sit down type area(dinner not meet site)..

Dinner as always is optional... Everybody usually has their "group of friends" anyways..

Anyone with suggestions of area, and date.. Please chime in so we can make this meet happen.


My suggestions is SUNDAY, November 7th. Locale don't know yet but that all depends on the number of people that show up..

We had a Yonkers meet in the summer and it was a good time and a good turnout with just around 15 cars.

Im down for a meet but im in south jersey and my work sched is kinda screwed up at the moment. I dont know if I could guarantee that I could make a trek up to NY.

I noticed all the BX/YO people choose places near BX/YO when this is in the NY/NJ section.... down if the location was a medium between Nassau/BX.

 

Nobody is really saying anything. The YO/BX people are just saying we can meet up... This thread is to start a meet but it seems more like only the BX/YO people are willing to meet... Hence you see only BX/YO...

People just sit and wait for a meet and depending on where and when, they'll know if they'll go or not. I opened this thread so that we can discuss all this before hand so 10 cars from the BX/ 10 from YO, 10 from Jersey dont come meet 2 people from queens in queens... Im not saying the "city" with the most cars is where the meet is going to be, but its got to be reasonable and realistic..

We can all OPENLY decide to make a minimeet on this thread as well as it seems WE, the bx/yo, people are doing...

Thread is an open discussion and nobody is really talking about a "big" meet.

 

Just my 2 cents, Ive been to 100's of meets between BMW, Acura, Nissans and Mercedes and I can firmly say that 90% of the NYC people won't bother traveling into Jersey, let alone leave their borough. Most of those guys will say tolls and gas is expensive but the rest of the tri-state area travels around and still has more tolls and gas to pay for but still show up. If you want a big Azine meet it has to be held in NYC, as most won't travel into Jersey.

 

Thats right on probably being in NYC and not in Jersey, Gus.. YO is still NYC in my book. shit i can throw a rock and hit the bronx lol. People leaving their boroughs though... Yes and No.. its like Yonkers, Bronx, Manhattan VS Queens, Brooklyn, Long island.. Usually 95% of the meets are in queens/Long island due to its space and that they don't get that much attention from cops like we would in any other place from the city.. Thats just the part of the whole car scene (for big meets). That doesn't apply to mini-meets of coarse. I have no problem traveling as long as its reasonable. I went to hecksher twice and the best part was the trip cuz the meet itself was trash... im not looking for that..
And i dont really care if 20 people for 50 people come, as long as it was a good meet... My first meet with AZ was in queens in january with snow and freezing temps but we still had a good time..

All we need is a close location with good parking and no cop harassment..

I'm down for wherever, but the closer to Jersey it is the better chance I will make it. I will not travel anywhere near Hecksher (idk how to spell that lol). I wouldn't mind the Palisades Center Mall then some Dave&Busters after. The first meet I ever went to was there, but it is kind of far so idk about you NY and South Jersey people. I can't think of any places in NJ where cops won't bother us but like 04WDPSedan said only a few from NY would come out anyway.

If everyone can name places they feel would work out we can all decide on one together, or we can make a list of which ones work out for us and then pick the place with the most names. The Palisades mall is the only one I can think of.

JDM, Why you got to come at 04WDPSedan like that. He wasn't saying anything about your hecksher meet or anything directly towards you. Some people don't like the long drive, some people dont like the atmosphere/big car scene. Its their ride, time, and money... If everyone wants to stay local, its their choice.

Did already^, my intentions wasnt to bash anyone, I just wanted Azine's Finest out in full effect. Cause I know we got some sexy cars on here. But i hope this event that the chapter leader throws turn out great. And I never had a problem with any member having just a Azine only carmeet. My intentions was for everyone to come out take some great pics and just have a good time.

 

Thanks for the PM buddy, I rarely go to anymore meets since the last one I attended which was at your meet over a year ago. I was just helping these guys out with locations since I know most won't travel into NJ for a meet, it's best suited to hold them in NYC. Now for what meets are being held that's up the individual running the meets. I appreciate your PM, I understand completely. It's all cool buddy.
