Philly Cheesesteak run 2012! 4/21/12
We set this up with Joey from EA and would like to get everyone in.
About that time of year again for a good 'ole run down to Philly for an Authentic Philly Cheesesteak! We will start at the Essex Green and then head south down to Philly. We will be making two stops during the way to pick up other members for the cruise. Each meet location is outlined below. If it is more convenient for you to meet us further south than the starting location then by all means do so. Each spot is easily accessible off the highway to make getting off and on with the group simple.
Date: Saturday April 21st, 2012
Meet time: 11:30 AM
Departure: 12:00 AM
Start Location:
Essex Green Shopping Center (Macy's Lot)
495 Prospect Avenue
West Orange, NJ 07052
Meet Location 1
Colonia South Service Area
Parkway South (Mile 132)
Meet Location 2
Richard Stockton Service Area
Turnpike South (Mile 58.7 in Hamilton Township)
End Location
Tony Luke's
39 East Oregon Avenue
Philadelphia, PA
Total Miles: 97
Total Time: 2 Hours
There is a large lot right across the street from Tony Luke's which makes it ideal for the cheesesteak run. Great opportunity to cruise, hang out, have fun and enjoy some good eating.
As with all of our rallies we kindly ask the following from our participants:
No reckless driving or endangering the lives of others
Courtesy and respect for fellow participants and bystanders on the roads
No clowning around at the meeting spots (Donuts, littering, burnouts, etc)
Bring a good attitude and have a great time!
Spread the word and get this around to all forums. Anyone is welcome to come out and have a good time with us. Hope to see you all there

Genos or pats only 5 mins from tony Luke's and more popular in my opinion.. Also I believe the lot you talking about is toy r us parking lot.. Which is right on the corner. If u guys like a chicken cheese stake Tony's is better for a real cheese stake genos is better OFCOURSE this my opinion.. Me and 4 more guys from the south street location live 20 min away from ur destination will u guys be taking 42 to get to Philly? If so I'm sure we can meet u guys on 42 shoulder and just follow you guys no need to stop till destination

1. if my car isn't in the shop, can i just meet you guys there? haha i go to school in west philly, stupid to drive into jersey and pay toll.
2. personally think geno's and pat's are both overrated. most philly people agree. its a tourist stop. you go up to the window and you MUST already know what you want, and its cash only. the cheesesteaks are premade due to the quantity of people they get, meaning they just add onions, cheese, or whatever you want, and thats it, its like a conveyor belt.
3. why don't we make this closer to 2-3PM so its more like lunch time on a saturday(or breakfast for a college kid)

Dave remember they leaving north jersey at 12 they should be getting here by 1:30
And I do agree they overrated an u don't get enough meat no homo but hey it's a popular place.. If we do go to Toby Luke's the only place we would be able to park is in the toys r us since they have a big parking lot... Unless depending of how many cars come we can park in there own parking lot or we can park in the middle of the street.. Yes we park in the middle of the street

the place on the corner of my block puts the bread on top of the meet and everything on the grill for a minute, then flips it with everything inside, if thats what you mean. beside that, most places you can ask the bread to be toasted. geno/pats doesn't do custom shit though. crappy customer service.
and cesar, true, your right

HeartTLs I say we can go to all three and u be the judge lmao. I say if you want a cheese steak genos would be better.
The way you order in the first window is :
"with wiz"
This means a cheese steak with onions and with wiz cheese
if you want no onions you order
"1 wiz"
If you like chicken cheesesteaks or pork go to tony lukes.
and since pats right across the street from genos you can go there also..I personally don't like them that much but hey everyone has opinions.
PS. Dave do you have a jack I can borrow till sunday
