Hurricane Irene.
Let's keep safe and hope for the best here, boys. I don't know about you, but the back of my house is dense forest with tall, skinny trees at about 200'.
Stay safe. I really don't feel good about this.

This doesn't look good guys. I was reading and saw that Irene may mimic a hurricane that swarmed us in 1821. They said it helps us prepare in a way, but if it's equal to the devastation the past hurricane caused, it's going to be ugly.
South of Sunrise Hwy apparently is under 'elective evacuation.' I'm on the North shore, but I still have an uneasy feeling. I'm actually moving in with my girlfriend tomorrow; so I will have a great first experience in the new place

The situation is sweet and sour for me, sweet because my job is gonna be closed on Sunday yes!!
and sour because I'm fucking worried about something happening to my car, the closest garage is like 4 blocks from my house.

In my parking lot I pick the spot and got one in doors, so no water for my baby and I'm not moving her for nothing in the world. Going to work early tomorrow at 7:00 and be back by eleven, taking mass transit and back before they close it, good luck to all my Acurazine brothers.

Well after a 36 hour stretch of reporting the news to you all its finally over. I work for FOX5 and all i been hearing about for the past 36 hours is the bitch Irene. Thank god shes gone and in a couple hours ill be out of this damn studio and back home. Driving home last night from Manhattan to the BX, i had to hit the "red" button and change the ac into a boat (go go gadget boat) to get home. I left work about 230am right before the eye hit and it was rough getting home. Absolutely noone on the road. Bruckner was pretty much clear not to many puddles and i made it home ok. Woke up this morning to trees all over(throggs neck area). But no trees on my car. Nestled in my driveway i thought she'd be safe. Woke up to my rear window spoiler broken in half. Wind must have pulled it right off. So looks like ill be in the market for a new roof spoiler. But glad to hear shes gone and everyone is safe.

You guys made it pretty good.. My TL was safe in the garage (first time I've put a car in there the 2 years Ive been here lol. We still have no power or cable
But luckily I got my generator goin for the fridge and sump pumps lol.. Heres a youtube video of some asshole making fun of the National Guard for trying to help out.. This is 4 blocks from where my house is, but Im higher up so I didnt get any flooding. You can see that the water has to be at least 15 FEET deep..
Luckily I can tether through my iPhone lol.

^^ I was just about to say that. I hear people saying it was all hype and that the media blew it out of proportion but we just got fortunate, that's all.
And if they happen to announce another hurricane/tropical storm that's coming our way, I'll take the same precautions as I did for Irene. Better to be safe than sorry.
