blown engine problem

Well looks like I will not have a car for a while. I blew a rod right through the oil pan. I would love to get some help to know what my options are. Does anyone know a reputable junk yard or place I can get an engine from, or how much they cost new? I would love a 3.6L rebuild as well, does anyone know a place that can fix my engine to be rebuilt and stronger. I know this cost more money to do, but in the long run it would last. I live in NJ

It was the s/c. I had it installed since OCT, no problems and never beat on car. All scheduled mantience's were done as well. One good run keeping up with a 12.5 second s4 and BOOM, engine shut off and rod went through oil pan. I did beat on it for that one run, I would recommend anyone going S/C get AEM FI/C or a good tune. Apparently the ACM which everyone knocks and doesn't tell us why it is garbage, just remaps fuel but doesn't actually "tune" the car. I learned the hard way, but I am looking into a 3.6 rebuild and going N/A or putting s/c back on and being in the 375-400WHP range.

damn....did you have any wideband sensors/gages hooked up? sounds like the SC caused this. sucks to hear this bro. possible lean condition?

i had to replace my engine due to a non-related issue and got it for $500 wit 40k on it. i got lucky but check around at some used junkyards or on some forums for a used j32a3 engine and build it up with lower compression pistons and wateva else you desire. really sorry to hear this as it wont be cheap. g' luck with everything and keep us updated.

Did you blow yours going s/c? What components do you have now that support the s/c?

Thanks for the honesty AckTL05

Did you have your methanol kit spraying at the time the rod broke? If yes, what percentage meth/water mix was it? The reason that I ask is because I would hope that a strong mixture of meth would had prevented the denotation.

I did and the mixture was 50/50. It was spraying at the time of the blow, it is the AEM kit and was the lowest out of the three spray nozzle sizes. I was told that was fine, so that shouldn't be a problem either. It honestly was the tune.

I put the HBP on and blew the head gasket. I may have had morre damage but I just went ahead and replaced. I havent had any problems other than that. My mods are in my sig. I do not have anything as far as supporting mods for the s/c. Good luck.

My friend and I thought I blew my head gasket as well since it was dripping oil out of it. My mechanic took apart the engine and saw internal damage, I am sure there was some on your as well. I am going ahead with a J36 build.
