several concerns

1. broken passenger side mirror (glass only)
2. TCS comes on intermittently...CEL was NOT on during extensive test-drive but is on constantly now...

last owner says #2 could be result of new transmission installation.

Only place I've heard of is Dan's Auto Center in Boones Ferry rd. afaik they do both body repair and mechanical stuff. However I personally haven't done any work through them. Luckily for me, I haven't had too many mechanical troubles (*knock on wood*) but from what I've read, they do seem pretty good.

I've had work done through Pro-Tek on Sandy blvd. However I only had an underdrive pulley installed with them, nothing really serious. They do seem highly knowledgeable and even though their site shows mostly Euro imports, they really do work on most everything.

Just some suggestions. Whichever you pick, let us know! IMO we should have a sticky or something for this forum, where we post the best mechanics, auto parts stores, etc in various Northwest counties.

wow...this is disturbing...either there's not ONE repair shop worth mentioning, or this is an apathetic thread...

A little late, but I'm a one man Independent Honda/Acura operation in Vancouver, just off exit 5 on I-5.

Worked on many A Zine member's cars....mostly factory service and repair, but do a little performance stuff here and there.

Have factory Honda HDS scan tool/program- good for programming keys, computers, SRS, etc

No tires/alignments, AC work

Hello, I just recently purchased a 2002 Acura RL 3.5 and was interested in putting some aftermarket stuff on it such as in intake and a tasteful exhaust, maybe I could come by the shop and get a quote from you.?

TL Timing belt in PDX

Hey all,
My 2002 TL-S is coming apart, and this after 2 years of ownership and lots of not-so-friendly driving by yours truly.
Now at 115K, I know it's time to bite the bullet and get the timing belt suff dealt with. Just got 2 quotes from indy shops here in PDX
Chace on SE 82nd: $679 not including tensioner, prob. closer to $850 w/ tensioner parts
Steve's Imports: $950 incl. tensioner parts.

With the AZ help, I'm pretty sure I can do the brake work taken care of my self - love saving $$$

Anyone have a shop they like / use in PDX?
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I charge 730 for t-belt service including t-belt tension adjuster. Honda parts/coolant: timing belt, water pump, drive belt, tension adjuster, and coolant flush.

I can do a few bucks off for AZ members as well.

In Vancouver, but worth the trip. Thanks!
