Whatever time you want it to....

Last time we "TRIED" to plan dinner but it didn't work out well in San Francisco.

You guys in the surrounding cities & suburbs are spoiled with parking...

Not the case here.

This makes planning group events...nightmarish.

In the upcoming weeks I will try to initiate a dialogue to gauge interest on "after-meet plans."

But you are free to leave whenever you like.

To my recollection...We stayed to roughly until 5 last time.

Mind you...it was getting dark then...different scenario here in Spring.

Hope you can make it out considering you haven't been to many Acurazine Meets.

Come and show your Azine support!

Hence, reasons why NOT to plan a meet in SF and yet, you still do

Well hey...obviously it wasn't too bad if you look at pictures from last year.

And multiple forums wide...they enjoyed the meet and look forward to another.

Which is why people keep asking me when we are going to have another.

I think that speaks for itself...

I have seen the pix and it was 30 cars right? I think you can get more especially since it's much less than previous years. Speaking from experience you may have less trouble and better turn-out if it was elsewhere with less traffic, more parking, and availability of food.

It was 40 cars and probably 50 or 60 people.

I was happy with the size...wouldn't mind having a few more people show up.

For the record...I experience tons of traffic going to the South Bay...East Bay for everybody else's meets.

We've had meets in crowded mall parking lots...I don't see how those "parking-wise" were any better.

You really can't get any more parking then what is available in The Presidio.

And I feel people exaggerate the traffic problem, it isn't that bad if you know where to avoid.

My opinion is a lot of people do what they want since they are already in the City.

People bring their girlfriends and other friends because they have plans to do something after the meet.

People can organize smaller groups who share similar interests to go drink, eat, whatever.

There are tons of food around...just not tons of open parking.

It's good to get out the South Bay, East Bay, North Bay, where ever it is for a change of scenery.

The Presidio is a great meet spot.

All good...makes perfect sense.

The meet lasted for a few hours last time and some of us did get together for pizza afterwards.

Probably in your scenario...with consideration to the distance and time you get off work...

We will just have to see what develops in the next few weeks and if it's something you can justify making the trip for.

It would be cool to have you come on through.

Actually.. the traffic really is "that" bad :\.. roads are fked too.
You support your traffic argument by saying "if you know where to avoid," but the thing is, many of the people coming arn't residents of the city, and do not know where to avoid. Even with Navi, it wouldn't guide them away from traffic.

IIRC from the last meet, parking was great, view was great, but the lack of nearby food joints, and the absence of bushes to pee in sucked. I think I held my piss in that whole day until we got to RT pizza.

New paint, new wheels, new trunk. Its all gravy. Dude, should we do it earlier? I still like 1ish. 3 is already getting late, unless the sun is going to be up longer? Oh yea, add me on the yes list

Oh hey Kiran (think thats your name if i remember), bring what we talked about the other meet near foster city or whatever....hope you remember heh

Yeah you guys took the wrong way...

Van Ness is not the way to go...I told everybody that. CA-1/19th AVENUE

The roads were no worse then what I see everywhere in the Bay.

Seriously...San Jose has some of worst roads I have ever driven through.

Hundreds of food joints were within one square mile.

Just not a lot of parking.

Do you have Navi...just follow it.

I would cut over to the 1 if you can? Over Richmond Bridge.

You would basically cross GGB and be right there!

Yeah that's perfectly fine...

Embarcadero is ok.

Other directions to come up the HWY.1 / 19th Ave. would be if you could come up from the South Bay on 280N.

That looks fine too...same way Brandon is going.

Would be better if you could get on Hwy.1S because it would drop you right into The Presidio.

Side note about the traffic...

Absolutely...you know.

A little traffic would be expected but to take one of the busiest streets (Van Ness Avenue) that leads into a major freeway on-rap is not the best route.

You should expect heavy traffic if you plan that course.

yea those directions would be the shortest way, but as long as you say that route is okay then i'm good with that, thanks for your input..hopefully i don't get too lost..

as for coming up from the South Bay, that would mean i drive for about an hour down towards San Jose and then back up into SF and would make my trip a total of close to 2 hours i think..no thanks..looking forward to this meet! hopefully the weather is good
