I think they (oil companies/refineries) are getting even with the environmental extremist who tried to stall oil production back in the 60s/70s. Unfortunately, we get stuck with the fallout from the battle.

 

Probably . . . . I don't want to screw the environment either, but I've heard that spill management has come a long ways since the Valdez spill. One of the dad's on my son's soccer team works for a company that owns some wells off the Texas and Louisiana coast. I asked about there being so few spills reported these days and he told me that they still have lots of them. It's just that the clean up is so much better it never makes the beachs . . so not news worthy anymore. He said there we a lot of 'Spill-onairs' create by the need for clean up technology.

Now if we can just get California to do some off shore drilling we'd be set for a few more years . . . but we need some of the tax profits from oil companies going toward research. . . . yeah, right.

Well on the topic of alternative energy, back when i was doing my senior project for highschool, i remember that BMW came up with some sort of lithium compound that was already in place at certain airports in germany. the tank was virtually indestructable and had promising numbers

Got the new T1Rs on today...imo rides better than the S03s. The car got checked out today and everything was in working order. All I needed was to replace the plastic engine cover. Cleaned up the car while on the lift and got an oil change while I was there.

I guess I was lucky since nothing major was damaged...at least it's over and done with.

 

 

LOL, far from it. This little incident cost me $500.

 

And the rest of us can now take a breath of relief . Glad to hear all is good with the zizzler.
