SacTown Chat Thread
I kno a couple ppl that work @ SCO.. A girl named Lisa and a girl named Amy. and a guy named David.
Time to stray off topic here... sorry.
In case you haven't seen my thread on the 3G TL forum, I am considering having my roof blacked out on my WDP. I have two options: Sticker (vinyl), or paint. I would think each is going to cost about the same with install. Now I can't decide which way to go. Vinyl will wear over time and will eventually need to be replaced. On the plus side though, I can take it off with little work. There is also the resale value factor that one must consider, but since I plan on keeping the car until the wheels fall off, resale really won't matter a whole lot on a high milage 11 year old car.
Paint is obviously more durable, but a permanent modification. If I grow tired of it, there is no going back without getting the roof repainted. I understand that matching WDP can be a pain in the ass as well, so there is that to consider.
Point of this post? What do you guys think is my best option? I was all about vinyl yesterday, but the possibility that it can be destroyed by the elements over time makes me wonder if painting the roof is a better avenue to go down. Or should I just say screw it and just save my money altogether?

What I'm aiming for:

Also, any of you have recommendations for a paint shop or graphics shop (for vinyl application) in the Greater Sacramento area?

Hmmm I dunno I dont think I would do it kuz u gave some good point there it is hard to match WDP I kno guys that have done vinyl and they have had it for like 2 years and its still in good shape..
BTW do u work downtown sac? I saw a 3rd gen WDp TL like yours like 3 weeks ago

I think paint would look better, but a glossy vinyl, when kept up, will probably stand the test of time ok.
I sent an e-mail to a place that does car wraps in Rancho Cordova for an estimate, but I have yet to get a response. I'm afraid to do this mod myself... I can see creases and bubbles ending up in the finished job.

2Morrow... Let me know if you find any decent graphic shops if you are also in the market for doing this.
if its not a big deal to you, I would just keep my money. Its a stand out mod for sure but its kinda low key if you know what I mean.
I saw a WDP 3G A-Spec TL with kit and wheels and exhaust going south on I-5. I saw him parked at the STRS building today, I think he works there. Imma recruit him

Nah... I haven't been downtown in a while. I work in Roseville out near Thunder Valley. I hardly ever get down that way much anymore.

I used to know of a place in Daly City that did that.
My boy Dan used to work there, but he's in chicago supporting a racing/drifting career now. When we were at the academy he wanted to vinyl wrap my hyundai like the WRC rally car.
No hook up anymore though :thumbsdow
so it would take you like 12 hours to finish it halfway but almost 2 months to complete
on another note, 3G TL wheels with new bridgestone tires for $450:

Maybe carlo is interested in that too so he doesnt need to get more tires

I could've gotten 06 wheels and tires for $275 i think or $300, but i ended up using the money to get new brakes and now id rather not get the stock rims anymore.
Now, which are better on my car, the type S rims or my aspecs?

I think the type-s rims on my dads white CL-S would look hella nice cause of the contrast and cause his cars lowered.
