I haven't been on the forum posting much, but with all that is going on in the world, I wondered...
Do you think that we should have some sort of relief fundraiser for Japan?

Maybe we could have some sort of carshow where the funds go directly to the charity organization we all agree to? (Red Cross etc.)
could vendors help us out? corporate donations from those who advertize on the site?
car dealerships and or black market sponsors contributing as well?

I'm thinking like $10 a piece to get in, sell T-Shirts for another $10
maybe selling Azine stickers or another relief logo sticker for your car to show your support.

Make it a party like Acurafest?
DJs etc.

It wouldn't have to be exclusive to Acuras, hondas, Lexus, any Japanese car...open to any suggestions you have.
Just an idea....It would take all of us and all our contacts to make it happen, but we could become an example to the rest of the site and maybe have a contest by region for bragging rights to see who can collect the most donations.

I suppose that I simply feel the need to give back to the country which inspired us to come together in the first place.

Neither am I, but I'm not talking flyers or anything.
just having a way to collect $ for relief at a casual meet would be cool.
heck....maybe we could start a pot going and add to it as the months go by. This would be an acctng of how much we have collected so far.
doesnt have to be one event, maybe several....or a combination of WHATEVER.
just want to help somehow.

We can make a bunch of those Pray For Japan decals like the one i have above and have all the proceeds-what it costs to have them made go towards the relief effort..im down to do that have a nice little booth at the car meets :P hahah

 

The meet sounds like a great idea. If I'm free ill attend.

I would too, this would be my only decal on my car. How can we do this?

@Dan - can you find out what it would take to have those decals available to be distributed for donations? Would the place that made this danate more in bulk for relief donations?

I know that If I sported one, others I know would be willing to do the same. I figure at least 10 of my people would take one..at $10 a piece is $100 for relief.
X as many members as we can get to do the same = some help for those in need.

This is without even begining to organize a meet.
