No, it's not Beef Noodle # 1; that is across the street. Pho Y #1 is next to Hollywood Video.

I'm not a pho aficionado so I can't compare to other places. The broth wasn't as bold and strong in flavor as some other places I tried. The beef to pho ratio is good. We always would like more but you know how it is. No complaints about this place except they don't have rice dishes so your option is limited. Especially in this hot weather.

You can always try these other Pho places:

Pho Bang (Tully & King) - good
Pho Kim Long(Milpitas) - extremely big portion. Not so good imo.
Pho 54 (Alum Rock) - another good one.

Yea I gotta agree with Tony, it's koo but not the best. I would give it a 3 to 3.5 stars out of 5.

I know they don't use a lot of MSG in their broth maybe that's why it didn't taste as good as the other places. But the bone marrow flavor was there though.

I didn't like how the soup base was a little on the darker side and a little cloudy looking. The portions, I would say are decent at best. Yea their ratio of noodles to meat is koo, but for the large size bowl that shit felt like a small but with hella more water in it.

The large bowls at most places make me feel full for a few hours after eating it. Their broth wasn't hot enough either, but i'm picky and I like my broth to stay hella hot when I'm eating it.

They have a variety of food for you to try; there's pho, rice plate, and vermicelli among other things. Avoid lunch hour if possible, parking is a pain. Only a few more hours left.

i know we discussed this before at the chat thread but...where's the places you guys mentioned (trung, donald, viet, etc etc) for Vietnamese Cafes???? I haven't been to one in years, and I think it's about time I/we/us check them out again.....I know there's one called Miss Cafe on Alum Rock but don't know if it's cool...

Miss Cafe is cool but the music was too loud. Not a lot of cig. smoke so it's a big plus. They have a food and drink menu which was very helpful. The girls are classy so to speak. Chot Nho was another one I went to that is smaller than Miss Cafe and a lot more smoke, but the girls are slightly better in terms of their attire. They didn't have a menu like Miss Cafe. The drinks are all the same basically.

Miss Cafe is cool. Went there before with my co-worker a few months back. It's divided into 2 section, smoking and non-smoking. IMO, the girls there arent dress slutty. I cant stand places that have smoking only. I'm not much of a coffee shop person, but I think Viet knows more places.

I tried going to Hot Spot Espresso by the SJ flea market for the UFC fight but it was overly crowded.
