Quick hello post. I’ve been lurking for several months pre-purchase while looking into various manufacturers. But time to join up, since Friday before last pulled the trigger, and we got a ‘21 RDX Advanced. Wasn’t planning on a purchase until winter/spring, but with chip shortages, supply issues, and a generally cr*ppy 12+ months, I wanted my better half to get a nice bday replacement vehicle. (He’s a CNA in a nursing/memory care facility, so Covid has been an issue, including when he had it pretty rough).
Ended up purchasing from a dealer 3.5 hours away, and the salesman drove it down to us that night, so I guess the last day of the month really did have an effect, lol. Not much movement on price due to practically no Advanced models within a few hundred miles of us, but snagged the one they had with a build date of 04/21, woot! Added lighted sill plates, welcome lights, and cargo tray, and they had already tinted the windows & ceramic coated it through a vendor they use, (which I at least got out of paying). After the $1k conquest, a measly few hundred off sticker, and the insane amount they gave us on our ‘13 Buick LaCrosse, felt good with the deal.
Went through Hyannis Honda for the D82 Acura/Honda Care coverage, just as I did on our ‘15 Accord Hybrid, since they obviously wouldn’t even come close to their pricing.
Looking forward to learning all about the RDX as it’s our first Acura, and getting used to all the new tech compared to our Honda, (and the now gone Buick). Oh, and I get the ‘hand-me down Honda’, I’m good with that, still a great car.
Welcome on board and congratulations on your Acura! Lots of very informed members on here with a wealth of information, so you've come to the right place. Safe driving and happy modding!
