New (to me) RDX Owner

Hey all,

I've been lurking the forums here off and on for years. I started out about 4 years ago with a 2010 RDX that I *loved*, but it had turbo issues, and there wasn't a great place to deal with them DIY style in the parking lot of my apartment complex, so off it went for a leased VW Tiguan (so far, not impressed). Well, I've been watching the auctions for a while and came across a 2015 RDX that needs some love (a little bit of a fire - more on that in the appropriate place), and I figured I'd finally jump in on the conversation. The job ahead looks to be interesting, so I figured it would be good to be able to not only ask questions, but to document the process for future DIY folks that run into similar issues.

When I'm not getting myself into conundrums like this, I work in the building automation industry. A lot of the same principles apply there (I've actually hired more than one mechanic as controls technicians), so I'm looking forward to getting my hands dirty in a different sort of way.
