Question New Forum Member - New TSX Tomorrow?

Brand new to the forum and going to look at a 2007 TSX manual with NAV tomorrow. Hopefully the owner drops it off at the dealer for a pre-purchase inspection and everything works out tomorrow night.

Any advice on what to look for in buying a 2007? The dealership said they will do the same inspection they do for their used cars before they put them on the lot. No diagnostic check unless there are any lights on and I'm doubting they'll do any compression check or anything like that...

How are people exchanging money these days? PayPal? Wire transfer?

Thanks for any advice,

Tom

IDK, but I have done worse in used car buying... Also, I feel like a K24a2 wouldn't usually have compression issues, but thats just me... IMO, you're more likely to have stupid electrical issues like alarm randomly going off, reverse lights working by themselves and such, which isn't likely in itself... Pre-inspection should find most, or atleast, some impending issues which are likely kept to a minimum... In used car buying, prior maintenance, and tending to all affirmative maintenance is key...

Pre-inspection is great. I haven't bought a used car in a couple years, but, when I do buy my next it will be used and I'll be doing a PPI.

Also, is the car in a different state, why would you have to worry about money exchange?

I'm driving across country and on the way back home so I've been looking for decent TSX manuals along the way home so I'll need to figure out something that the seller is comfortable with. There's actually another 2007 TSX manual but with twice the miles right in my home town so I do have a backup plan. The wife doesn't understand buying a car with over 100,000 miles though and the one at home has 160,000 miles

Thanks for the replies!

Cash rules but a bank check leaves a paper trail.

So it looks like if I can work out payment (cash or wire transfer) we have a deal.

There are a few items and things I would like to do for piece of mind. Filters fluids and it needs a serpentine belt. Is there a popular parts site you all use for OEM parts? I’ve always had good luck with autohausaz for Mercedes parts.

Are most people on here going 10,000 miles on oil changes? I know this question can go sideways but are there is there a top brand or two for oil brands?

The clutch was pretty stiff in the pedal feel. Is this something in the hydraulics or the spring portion of the clutch system?

There seem to be quite a few dead links in the TSX FAQ section and I would really like to go through these if anyone knows how to fix it....

thanks for all the help!

I get the majority of my parts from Del Rey Acura:
acuraoemparts.com

But sometimes from oemacuraparts.com

But I usually go to Majestic Honda for anything that cross references to a Honda PN.

PM me what specifically you have trouble with. If it's broken image links, there is sometimes a way to fix it. Dead links or deleted content is trickier. But I can try fixing/updating things on an individual basis (it's too much to tackle proactively given real life priorities).

Got it. I'm about to starting driving for a few days back east but I'm guessing when I get settled in and start going over the car I can get some links together that would be helpful. Most were in the maintenance/FAQ's section for the 1st Gen TSX.

Thank you!
