Talking Hello Hello... Newbee intro

Hi,

I have enjoyed this site for some time, though never commited to signing up. Today is that day. So, last Saturday I purchased my second Acura. The first was a 6 year old 2005 Acura Tl. I drove the '05 up until last saturday spewing power steering fluid. My mechanic said it was the rack and I should dump it immediately with 188,xxx, so I did. Now I have got a 2012 Tl AWD Sho with 107,xxx. I absolutely love this auto. The handling is so much more than previous generation. Anyways, my skill set knowledge of repairing and maintenance is a 4 out of 11. My Ace of spades is a local Certified Master Mechanic who works for a local Honda Dealership and has a nice heated garage and lift set up in his personal home/garage. I will enclose pics of my newer Acura soon. Thanks again,
Mr. K.

lol once the steering rack is replaced, the 2005 has another 10-20 years left.
But congrats on the upgraded TL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talking Thanks, but....

There was a lurking transmission issue as well. I had a shop install a new rebuilt transmission with a year warranty. Seven weeks later the transmission went to shit. I called the shop( that was a referral from my local ABC mechanic ) and said with suble frankness... " Oh, that was the last of the old model and we didn't have much luck with..." WTF I thought so why use it on my car? It was already a shady deal the fact I use Ca$h as payment to get 15% off. I brought it back they installed the newer version. Shady clue is that he won't give me a fereash 12 month warranty; he said he would go poor if you did so??? I wanted out but had little recouurse. Two months ago I started to have small bouts of slippeage in 2 and 3 gear. Nothing servre but enough to have it in the back of my mind. I just wanted ONE more year out of her....
