Hello! Checking in with a 2021 TLX SH-AWD w/Tech Package
Hello!
My parents have had two RDXes, but I picked up my first Acura over the weekend, a 2021 TLX SH-AWD w/Tech Package in Performance Red Pearl.
I consider myself a car enthusiast and I enjoy getting into technical discussions, but I admittedly haven't done much actual work on cars (lack of space and tools). I'd really like to someday though.
I've had more cars than I care to admit and that's due in large part to me being so indecisive about what I really want. However, I do think the TLX is what fits me and my family best right now. I wanted something comfortable, decently sporty, and spacious enough to handle 2 kids and our stuff for a weekend away. For anyone who's curious though, here's what I've had more recently:

- 2011 BMW 335i xDrive - one of my all-time favorites, great engine and performance, but long-term reliability was a concern. This car had every common issue discussed in BMW forums, but I still enjoyed the heck out of driving it.
- 2018 Mazda CX-9 - Wonderful family SUV, more agile than you'd expect considering its size, but lacking a bit in terms of power. Came with awful OEM tires that made it dangerous to drive in the winter too.
- 2019 VW GTI - third GTI that my family's had. Started with a 2008 that got handed down to my younger brother, had a manual 2010 for a while. One of my all-time favorite cars, but I realized the hard way that I must be getting old or something and I wanted something more comfortable. Also found out the hard way that it wasn't as practical as I remembered. We managed a couple weekend trips with kids + stuff, but we had to pack everything in like a clown car!
- And now: 2021 TLX - exceptional times and an unusual market made this lease pickup possible! This thing feels like an absolute boat compared to the GTI, but that shouldn't surprise anyone
