I have a 2016 TLX. The other night, I received a call from someone claiming to be from Acura and asking me if I wanted to participate in a 3 hour focus group, after which I would immediately receive a check for $300. I was asked a series of questions to see if I qualified for the group, and of course, I did.I wa given a choice of 3 dates in February and told it will take place at the Gruman Studios in Bethpage NY. Has anyone else had this experience or a similar one? Just trying to figure out if its legitimate. I was given phone numbers to call if I had any questions, but you know how that goes. Anyone else out there has this happen?

What are the phone numbers? Have you tried doing a quick google search to see if they are tied to any potential scams?

714 891-1888. Google just tells me its a California number, but not who it belongs to.

Number belongs to "A Point of View Reasearch" which is a Market Research company based out of Huntingtom Beach, California. Focus groups aren't run by dealers but rather 3rd party research companies like these.

Thanks so much for the answer. I clld the Acura Customer Service line who said thy weren't aware of any focus groups regarding Acura, but they asked me to send them a copy of the Email that they promised to send. Will let you know how it goes. Thanks again.

Honestly, it sounds legit to me. I know my sister in-law got called to do the exact same thing for Ford - got paid $250.00, IIRC.
