Smile First Acura ever.........

My wife and I took delivery of a new 2017 MDX with technology package. Not going to lie, it was a tough decision between MDX and RX350, but the third row seat was one of the deciding factors. Also, Lexus dealers are not dealing they want new car money on 2017 service loaners, etc. Traded in a 2006 Odyssey EX-L she drove for 11 years! I guess we are staying in the Honda family. To say this vehicle is NICE is an understatement, it is REALLY nice........

Congrats. Acura makes some damn nice SUV's. I wanted an MDX but my wife wanted the Pilot. I still don't understand why......

She drove the Pilot, it's nice too. Apparently only Acura has the SH-AWD system, not Honda. Both are nice. She drove the Highlander too. Really not a bad option either. if the RX350 had a third row seat, she might have went that route. I think Lexus interior is nicer than Acura overall, but nit picking at this point.

Correct. The Pilot is essentially FWD, with the rear wheels only kicking in when the front wheels slip. Or you can force it to stay in AWD but it's only recommended during slow speeds for limited amounts of time. Whereas the SH-AWD puts power to the rear wheels during hard acceleration and more power to the outside rear wheel when taking sharper turns. Overall, it's a much more dynamic AWD system than your run-of-the-mill AWD.

I'm happy with the Pilots AWD in snow but it doesn't handle anywhere as well as the MDX when it comes to cornering.

We had a little freezing rain here, did not even notice it with SH-AWD on........
