Fall Foliage Cruise Oct '10

So franchise and I were talking about having a fall foliage cruise sometime in Oct. Just seeing who's interested and if anyone has any good ideas? We were thinking either cruising up to NH or western mass. to snap some nice pictures. So if anyone knows of any cool spots, lets brainstorm

I've heard good things about the Mohawk Trail, the first one listed there. Great scenery and better roads. But it's quite a hike west

The Mohawk trail sounds decent. I don't venture out west much so I'm sure it would be a nice "spirited" cruise.

I'm up for a drive if we can keep it to a half a day, low traffic times, and in decent weather. Not sure how far the mohawk trail is from Boston... the other drives look good too. I know going west on RT.2 is pretty good.

I can't believe how many people are afraid to drive their cars a decent distance, lol.

For me its a matter of time not distance. If it was up to me I would drive my car 24/7.

Exactly.

I'd drive my car to the moon and back...but the weekends are few and far between.

OK, cool. That's completely understandable.

Not to pick on anyone, lol, but this is exactly what I was talking about! Don't be afraid of putting mileage on your car or anything like that.... go enjoy!

The whole point of a cruise is to just get out and go drive somewhere out of the ordinary. Go find some twisty fun backroads. Leave everything behind, it's just you and the car, interacting. For me, it's complete peace. Driving somewhere far and driving a long time is what makes it fun, no? Instead of taking the interstate, take the roundabout way and avoid all interstates. That's what it's all about.

A couple NH options...

Merrimack Valley

Seacost Region

After a quick Google maps search, those look pretty weak lol.

Well said, Kevin. I agree completely.

Any ideas on a date? Saturdays work best for me personally.

Looks like S2Ki, specifically the NES2KOC, is having a group drive out to Mohawk Trail the 16th, as well. Maybe we can coordinate some giant group shot lol.

Not me. I'd rather have more guys and more cars, I think it would be more fun. I like some of the S2K guys. But it's you guys' call...

If that's the case, we'd need to meet up early that morning to cruise out to Deerfield. It ooks like a 2 hour ride from Boston so a 7:30 meeting time somewhere? Or maybe somewhere along the pike after 8?

Mike you've got to stop traveling when you have more important things to do such as this cruise
