I saw a thread for a group tint idea in MA and was wondering if any of you CT members would be interested in a group tint/discount deal. I would be doing my 3G TL and my girlfriend's Nissan Altima. I'd like to get this done in the next month or so and I'll handle calling around for places. Does anyone have one tint shop that's better than another in CT .. Preferably the Middletown/Berlin/New Britian area. Also, what is the legal limit for tints in CT?

I'm down to get my car tinted...if this doesn't fall through I think I'm going to get my car tinted at Carisma in Lowell, Ma. It's $140 for coupes and $180 for sedans. Lifetime warranty too!

 

I'm gonna try calling tint master I'm Hartford today and see what the pricing is like. As of right now we have 4 cars, one is windshield only - right?

 

^ ive gotten all my cars tinted at tint master , the tints no doubt come out nice .. if you go there make sure you tell them you dont want any spaces in the little window near the back window ( hopefully that made sense , im not sure what its called )

heres the kicker with tint master ----- they scratched my black tl decent big scratch on the door , im anal about my car and pretty much check it before i park it anywhere or let anyone pull it into there garage .. the owner was there and instead of being professional about it he called me a lyer several times turned his back to me and walked away from me and straight up refused to do anything about it saying that it was prolly already there .. long story short i finally got him to admit it was there fault and he said he would pay for it to get fixed at this point i just touched it up myself at home because ive had enough with the owner and his buisness mentality... so too sum up they do good tinting but they are dicks when something goes wrong .. ill prolly wont be going back there anymore but my tints look sick lol . oh and the tl deff scratches tints like nothing so if it matters to anyone spend the extra dough on moleskin ..!

dunno i never asked them about it , i figured i would just see if my tl would scratch up the tint and sure enough she didnt disapoint .

 

OK - heres the deal. I called Tint Master in Hartford. I asked him what the price would be for 5 cars and he said we would get $20 or so off each, however the last person to get tinted would get all the discounts - SO what I would have to do is get my car tinted first to get us going, get the rest of you that are interested to schedule, and then I will get my girlfriend's car tinted last to get the discounts, and then stroke a check to each of you for the $10 or $20 whatever it is.

How do we feel about this?
Also, I asked about mole skin, the installer had never heard of it (bad sign?). He said their "premium tint" was $269 for TLs and it includes a 1 year warranty for peeling or bubbles and a lifetime mnfr's warranty. What are your thoughts?

im gunna dig around for my receipt but i think the price he gave you was for the more expensive tint with metal in it or however they market it ..

 

It is.. he gave me a price of $199 for their "standard tint" (no lifetime warranty) and the 2nd price was for the "premium tint". The guy I spoke with seemed to not be the sales guy/not so knowledgeable and my assumption was he was the installer.

if you don't mind driving a bit, save yourself 30-50 bucks go to solar solutions in bedford, ma ,$150 for a coupe suntek carbon +$20 for 6in strip

2+ cars they will discount 10 each car, maybe more if you get enough

Yeah I think I'm gonna hold off altogether for right now. I hadn't thought about it but I'm a door to door salesman and the winter is coming so I need to be able to see the house numbers at 5-6 at night :/
