Williams FW30

In testing livery.

Not the most elegant side pod. Who will win the Toyota battle this year?

Williams
The new car retains the general structural and layout philosophy of the FW29, featuring zero keel front suspension and dual pillar rear wing.

Changes include a three-plane front wing, increased sidepod top cooling vents, a new seamless shift gearbox, and (as with all the 2008 cars) taller cockpit sides to comply with more stringent driver safety regulations.

“Our focus has been on performance as well as refining our packaging and weight distribution,” said Michael.

“We are designing a tidier car with a higher standard of build quality.

“The FW30 should represent a good step forward when all of the many small areas of attention and improvement are brought together in the overall package.”

Nico Rosberg will test the new car on Tuesday and Wednesday before handing over to team-mate Kazuki Nakajima on Thursday.

Williams is famous for its wierd areo design stylings. Back in 2004, the WilliamsF1 BMW FW26 shocked the F1 world with it's most radical front wing design which significantly different from all other F1 contenders. Unfortunately, the wing didn't perform as strikingly as it's look, and the team had to revert back to the more conventional design styling front wing in the middle of the season.

I'd love to see Rosberg do well in that car. Some are tipping Williams to be the best of the rest behind McLaren and Ferrari tho Frank isn't so sure. I have a feeling Red Bull is moving up too, ditto Toyota. We shall see shortly!
