There's only one "Smoke", good luck in retirement still a little surprised he's going out so quietly.

He is only retiring from driving professionally in NASCAR's top series. He will still be part owner of Stewart Haas racing. He owns at least a couple of other race teams and Eldora speedway. I would also bet if you are lucky you could get to see him at a local sprint car race, back at Daytona for the 24 hour or any other number of places behind the wheel of a race car.

He will be missed by many fans of the sport.

^Those are some cool photos Chief! That video.. man... The guy is retiring give him a break already! How many times do they need to bring up the "incident" from a few years back. It's a shame that many will remember him for that. Maybe this is why the announcement is somewhat toned down. He brought many great moments, drama etc to NASCAR over the years and will be missed by many true fans.

Amazing how many good NASCAR drivers are retiring this year due to lack of sponsorship.
