As close as things were this year, I hope Jr. and others keep Jr's 25 point penalty in mind when mouthing off after the race. That might be the diff in championship.

I think it is a 5 year wait to even get on the waiting list.

Where is Cali is your sister?

Within two years, Junior should be able to win his first title. After that, you are right, it will be so much more difficult for him to win it. Look how hard Dale Jarrett, Rusty Wallace, and Mark Martin is having just trying to get into the top ten.

Nah, he lost the title in Atlanta. I am more worried about the changes to his car crew. With a new crew chief it will be interesting to see how they work together when something goes wrong.

He isnt getting any younger. He just turned 30.

Watch out for Tuex Jr. He will have some of the best resources and equipment if he stays with DEI.

I'm pretty sure Kyle Busch will get the same equipment as Gordon and Johnson. Remember he was Roush's heir to the throne before Hendrick stole him. I hate that when an organization brings a kid along all the way to the brink of stardom, only to have another team steal him away.

yeah...shows you about commitment for a guy... too bad for him I'm not a Hendrick fan...

At least Kurt Busch is a Cubs fan

I don't know about that....just look at Waltrip... If he goes to the 1 car, they need to get that team back on track...

Even if he goes to the 1 car, they will probably bring his entire race team with him. Next season I bet you will see the 1 car in a few races with Truex Jr. at the wheel. He needs to get some experience in NCC before he drives full time.

It aint happening boss, sorry!

Im sure if #8 won, you wouldnt have been complaining. And I dont give a shit what anyone says about KB, he drives the hell out of a car. And who can forget the Craven/Busch finish a few years ago?? Best finish in recent history.

That was Ryan Newman. KB won 4...Definatly not a one year wonder. He will be winning for years to come.

Nah, I would have complained because the incident had nothing to do with the race itself.

What if Tom Brady swore in the locker room after the game during an interview...should the league then go back to the final score and deduct points of the scoreboard? I dont think so. An uneccessary rule.

Well, luckly the incident didnt have any bearing on his outcome in the pts race. I do agree with you though. They should have just fined him and been done with it. Im sure in hindsight that would have been the better thing to do instead of piss off 75% of nascar fans that are #8 fans.

Imagine if he WAS 25 or less ponts short of first?? You think Iraq is bad??

It would have been a bad scene if that had happened. They would be calling for Mike Helton's head.

"Renovation nearing end for Daytona infield area"

"DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- For the first time in its 47-year history, Daytona International Speedway has a legitimate garage area for the Busch Series, rather than a series of tin-topped sheds.

But that is only a single aspect of one of the most extensive restructurings at a speedway hosting NASCAR events. The finishing touches are being put on the multi-million dollar project with little more than three weeks remaining before Speedweeks 2005."

"Dodge going retro with modern-era Charger"

"DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Richard Petty's 1970s-era Dodge Charger looks pretty menacing next to Jeremy Mayfield's 2005 Charger.

Petty's car is a big, bulky beast, and in its heyday was a menacing presence on the track. Mayfield's Charger is low and sleek, conforming to NASCAR's "common template" philosophy.

But Dodge officials hope the new Charger will have a menacing presence on the track these days. The new car is the second from Dodge since the manufacturer returned to the sport four years ago, replacing the Interpid."

http://www.nascar.com/2005/news/head...ger/index.html

Still a Dodge and not a big fan of it. I dont like to see old muscle cars brought back to be a fmaily sedan.

"Daytona 500 qualifying races get facelift"

"DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The qualifying races for the Daytona 500, which feature every Daytona 500 entrant and determine the starting lineup for the "Great American Race," will carry a new name and distance beginning with Speedweeks 2005.

The Gatorade Duel at Daytona, which has traditionally been two 125-mile qualifying races, will now be a pair of 150-mile qualifying races. The extra 25 miles, equivalent to 10 laps, will force teams to re-think their pit strategy as they fight to make the field for the Daytona 500, known as NASCAR's richest and most prestigious race.

In addition, there will be an extended break with live entertainment between the 150-mile Gatorade Duel qualifying races."

http://www.nascar.com/2004/news/head...ame/index.html

I like this idea for a little longer race.
