Doug Kalita set a NHRA world record....he ran a 4.42 at 333 mph!!! I've never seen the NHRA in person....that was the most intense 6 hours of my life!!!!

He has to back it up with another run within 1/10th, I believe to make it a official record.

How many Gs you need to do 333 mph in 4.4s?!! That is 0.5 Mach!

333 mph x 1609 / (3600 x 4.42) = 33.67 m/s^2. or 3.41Gs on the average. Still imagine when you can do a 9G "acitions"

Top fuel funny car record holder John Force ( his real name) has the record
of 326.87 miles per hour in 4.731 seconds @ 3.19 G’s. this is more G’s than
the space shuttle launching and even more G’s than a jet taking off an
aircraft carrier. That brings us to the big dogs of the NHRA circuit the top
fuel dragsters. The record holder Kenny Bernstein had a run of 332.75 miles
per hour in 4.477 seconds @ 3.22 G’s

damn thats crazy, i would love to line up against one of those

i've lined up w/ a 11 sec car before, i can only imagine what that would do, if i get a good hole shot on him maybe, if he pulls a 10.5 r/t it would be a good race

Its not so much the speed....its the sound. Your chest vibrates....the stand shake so much it tickles your feet.....and the insides of your ear get tickled, but in a kind of painfull way!

One wonders where it will all end . . . at 6.0, then 5.5, then 5.0 secs everyone thought that was it . . . surely 4.5 was it and now it was just who showed up wit the best car, crew and driver for the day . . but no way . . they keep chipping away . . . so when will we see the first 3.99 and 350MPH??
