Don't quite agree with that. The car was designed and built under the Honda regime. Engines are more or less equalized these days. If Honda kept the team, I think they would also have avoided the mid season slump in form that Brawn had when the other teams caught up due to Brawn's budget restraints.

It is known that the current Mercedes F1 powerplants can crank out ~30-40 more hp than any other make of F1 engines on the grid. That's why there are talks of de-freezing the engine freeze for Mercedes so that it will have to detune it's F1 engine output to match the others by next season.
