I could not disagree more. It's turned every race into a wet race where the best drivers vs. the best cars win, including the ability to manage tires. Combined with the ban on blown diffusers and the implementation of DRS, F1 has had some of the best races this year I've seen in 40 years.

Hey West, I wonder what the students have in mind besides disrupting the main transfer station at Berri-UQAM?

World champion Sebastian Vettel says he finds it hard to imagine life outside of Red Bull Racing, and insists he does not want to be anywhere else.
The two-time champion has a contract with the Milton Keynes-based squad until the end of the 2014 season, but the German has again been linked with a move to the Ferrari team.
Vettel, however, says he feels perfectly happy at Red Bull, with which he has won his two titles.
"I've been wearing a Red Bull helmet for almost my entire career. It is difficult to imagine another kind of life if you are so used to it," Vettel told AUTOSPORT when asked about his plans after 2014.

I am hoping the sheer number of race attendees (300k expected) and increased police and security presence will allow for an enjoyable weekend for anyone attending the race.
Hot metro stations + fans that paid a lot of $ to go to the track + increased police and security vs students doing stupid shit to prevent fans from getting to the track = shit hits fan

I'd say the tires are a constant and it's the weather's effect on them that isn't fully understood by the teams. Fuck it- best season I can remember. I hate predictability which is why wet races always were the most fun to

I was very tempted to pick Grosjean but not in Monaco, it's too technical and demanding for a relative rookie. There's ALWAYS a good race in Montreal, never saw a shitty one since 1989.

The 6 or 7 races I've gone to (and others watched on TV) have all been good races.

Red Bull will be forced to modify the controversial holes in the floor of its RB8 after the FIA clarified its position and deemed the design was not permissible.
The ruling, sent by the FIA to all the teams, will apply from next weekend's Canadian Grand Prix onwards and does not affect Mark Webber's Monaco Grand Prix victory.
AUTOSPORT understands Red Bull does not plan to contest the ruling, and will modify its car accordingly for Canada.
Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes had all expressed doubts about the legality of the holes ahead of the rear wheels of the Red Bull in Monaco, although they decided against a post-race protest.
Red Bull believed there was a grey area in the rulebook concerning the design of the holes, which were not believed to have provided a significant performance advantage.
The FIA has moved to outlaw the design however, saying that the rule book makes it implicit that fully enclosed holes may not be located in the bodywork just ahead of the rear wheels.

I am no genius but when the rule says the plank along the reference plane must be solid, I don't know how you could interpret it any other way. Oh well, Newey's got a solution figured out and it's probably better than what just got outlawed. No double DRS zone for Canada though, that's too bad but I'm guessing MBZ with good straight line speed and good traction out of slow speed corners, should suit the track well. I'll know more after watching P1-2.

F1 Salaries
http://www.planetf1.com/driver/18227...F1-money-list-
Fernando Alonso is reportedly Formula One's highest-paid driver, bringing home a staggering €14 million more than McLaren's drivers.
According to a French publication, the Business Book GP 2012, Alonso is netting an estimated €30 million per annum - and that does not include any sponsorship deals.
The next on the list are the two McLaren drivers with both Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button pulling in €16 million.
So it's no wonder Sebastian Vettel may or may not be considering a switch to Ferrari one day as for now he's only earning €10 million per season, a vast difference to what Alonso is bringing home.
The reigning World Champ, though, is on a par with Ferrari's second driver, Felipe Massa, while Michael Schumacher, who used to be F1's biggest earner back in his Ferrari days, is now eighth on the list, €2 million below his Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg.

Is the Ferrari really that bad? At the beginning of the season, that's what people assumed. However, as the season has progressed, it's pretty evident that all the cars have struggled with the tires depending on the circuit. For example, Button looked good at the start, but now he can't even qualify well.
