From the article

Romain Grosjean admitted he made "a stupid mistake" in running in to Mark Webber at the start of the Japanese Grand Prix.
Webber branded Grosjean a "first-lap nutcase" after being tapped in to a spin by the Lotus in turn two at the start. The incident comes two races after Grosjean was banned from the Italian Grand Prix for causing a first-corner crash in Spa, and he admitted that he had tried to be careful since then but had been caught out by the closing speed as Webber slowed for the second corner.
"Ever since I came back in Singapore my priority has been to be very cautious at the start, and I was watching Sergio [Perez] on my left to make sure there was no contact with him," Grosjean said. "There was quite a big speed difference between me and Mark [Webber] as I came into the first corner which caught me by surprise and we collided. It was a stupid mistake."
Grosjean also revealed that Webber confronted him over the incident after the race and said he would look to learn from the error.
"Mark [Webber] came to see me after the race and was obviously not happy, but I apologised and we have to move on. We'll sit down and look at things again before the next race to see what we can do to improve these situations. In the last few laps of the race the tyres were at the end of their life and we were out of the points, so it made sense to retire. Not a good day, but we have to look ahead to Korea and a chance to make amends."

The start was a mess, it was hard to see from the side track view what was going on as to the collisions. The in-car camera's showed the Lotus's hitting Alonso and Webber.

"in order to finish first, one must first finish."

FIA is requiring Grosjean to write that a thousand times before the next race

Ferrari always have a a #1, how's that going to work? The last time they tried this experiment with Prost and Mansell, it didn't work out so well.

yea i cant see vettel and alonso getting along... neither of them would be fond of team orders and i doubt either would wanna listen especially if both are fighting for the championship which would probably be the case.

I dont see vettel really leaving redbull, but i was wrong about hamilton

^ that's a possibility. Ferrari had talks with AN a few years ago between McLaren and Red Bull.

Somehow I don't see this working out in the end, but I do imagine SV will drive for Ferrari one day whether it be 2014 or later.

Vettel doesn't seem like the kind of person to jump ship like that. I hope it's not true.

Anyway, Alonso had a brave face on the podium yesterday.

^^^^^

Interesting development. Most already thought that Massa was a goner with Ferrari, given the consistently poor performance.

I think he would have been gone if not for his results in the last few races. However, is getting one podium finish in almost 2 years good enough for Ferrari?

I assume it's just 'easier' to keep him in the car for another until Vettel? or perhaps someone with greater prospects becomes available.

Not to mention the new formula and the learning curve that will entail .... why bring someone on, put them into a learning curve for a platform that won't exist very long and then have to do all over again?

Simpler to keep Massa for one more year.

(Is 2014 the new engine formula?)
