Testing for the upcoming season has begun in Valencia, Spain. Raikkonen was atop the charts yesterday and Webber (Jag's new boy) didn't turn a lap in anger b/c of problems w/ car. Here we go again!

Don't get too excited Astro, there were only like 7 participants. Schumacher's not getting into a car until the end of January b/c he needs a "rest."

 

Hasn't he already clinched the title for next year

 

Probably, since pole position means so little except in Monaco and the new qualifying process really won't make a different to him. More importantly, won't make a difference to his car either! Doubtful McLaren and Williams are gonna make huge inroads into Ferrari's dominance IMHO.

 

let's hope williams can get their act together so JPM can finally contend!

 

That's what i'm hoping. F1 needs some competition other than the 2 Ferrari drivers

 

There's gonna be plenty of competition this year b/c the points have tightened up. There's now only 2 points difference b/n 1st and 2nd and they give points to 8 rather than 6 drivers. I've seen races where only 7 cars are running at end so last place would get 2 instead of 1 in this scenario! I predict williams will have a better year than last year (JPM); Ralf will not. Kimi will have a smokin' year (battle for 2nd place).

 

I'm guessing that JPM will have a slight advantage in qualifying for the first part of the season. He's had experience in one car, one lap qualifying doing the ovals in the CART series so he should have a leg up. It won't last long though, at this level the other drivers will be right there soon.

 

I'll be watching to see how Cristiano does, and the other CART alumni ( Montoya, JV )
