I just got back.. I can't put into words the emotion that envelops you, the first time you hear an f1 car take a lap.. it's intoxicating. No youtube video can capture this. It was fantastic. I'll post up some shots soon.

With grojean 5 spot penalty he will be a row behind Alonso, hopefully he doesn't punt him out of the race in turn 1. As much as I want seb to win his third title, I'd like for Alonso to be in it to the end.

Turn 5.. it's nice. It definitely can get wild and it's definitely a passing section, but all downshifting. The plus side is if you get the high corner you can see to turn 6. Any spot in turn 5, you can see the straight across the way. What stinks about the north end of the track is all the great amenities, food vendors and entertainment is at the south end and walking through the sea of people is tiring.

Honestly, most of the turns are good.

11 is good, because if their brake freeze up, that's the place to see it.. and after the hairpin, warp speed.. upshifts.. mmmm...

15 is good, especially the corner or end seating because you see them coming down the straight and through the chicane.

19 is good, but it's VIP seating. I have no idea how to get in that circle. Anyways.. when the race heats up, that's where it goes down. There is general admin seating on a hill coming into the turn.

Of course the grandstands and turn 1 are good. That's a crazy "tower" they built at turn 1. lol.

I think my next seats are Monaco.

Well I've seen Indy and several Nascar races.. Both don't compare. Nothing against both of them, but it's not nearly as intoxicating. It's really crazy to appreciate what these guys are doing, and how they did it in the past. It's like taking a top fuel car around a twisty track.. incredible. Bruno about ate it at turn 5 during a warmup lap but got a handle of it. It was incredible.

I will say.. the bumper cars with 458's aka. Ferrari Challenge was a lot of fucking fun to watch. Bunch of crazy assholes in 458 Italia's. Poor 458's..

I was going to make a new thread.. but thought I'd bump this instead so newbies can soak in the awesomeness of the inaugural race.

Tickets just went on sale.. get them quick.

Well.. what a clusterfuck. They are just now mailing tickets.

Anyone else going?

Poor fuckers who put their home address and decide to fly in early, especially overseas, will have to request reprints at will-call.

Yeah, blame that on COTA, not F1. Tickets come so late. Same thing happened with MotoGP. For that race I actually had to go to their headquarters downtown to pick up my parking passes, ON OPENING DAY.

I'm not going to F1 this year. I will be going to MotoGP next year though.

I blame all of the above. It's unbelievable how ticket holders for their inaugural season got it earlier than this year.

Thinking of parking at a farm this year to save some coin.

Fucking great weekend, will post pics soon..

Still fucked up logistics, some gun scare race day morning, no GT3s, and dumbfuck ticketmaster.. sent me some cheapass tickets, not the commemorative ones. I spent nearly $1k at the track, at minimum they should give us nice tickets.

I actually got the commemorative GA tickets after the race. Some of the volunteers had stacks of them, giving them away. But yeah, I heard about the nightmare with the tickets... I just bought a Sunday ticket. I wasn't going to go at first, but I decided at the last minute to go. I couldn't miss it. Had a blast, as usual.
