Can Hayden be World Champion?

After Hayden won Laguna Seca, and the DNF of Rossi, I think Hayden has a real shot at winning the world championship this year. He is 50 pts up on Rossi, with 6 races to go. Anything is possible, especially with Rossi, but it looks increasingly likely that Rossi's streak of 5 straight MotoGP/500cc championships is about to end. IMO, if Hayden can podium every remaining race, he should be able to win the championship.

Hayden definitely deserves to win, he's ridden like a man possessed this year. and to make it to the top echelon of MotoGP so quickly is just awesome.

I am still picking Valentino to win the title this year tho!

Pity about Rossi. Ever since the news starting on him driving for Ferrari F1, he seems to have lost lots of momentum. The nasty fell in Assen didn't help him either.

Its possible, but like Astro, I think my money goes on Rossi. They are both great to watch though.

Nicky can definitely win the title. After Rossi's dnf at Laguna, I'd say Pedrosa is the guy to watch out for.

I agree. Pedrosa is the biggest threat to Hayden. He is still suffering from erratic results, probably due to experience. This guy has talent, maybe even more talent than Rossi.

Czech GP Spoiler

Nicky's points lead took a hit today in Brno as he struggled with a tire issue and finished 9th. Capirossi absolutely destroyed the field for the win. 1. Capirossi 2. Rossi 3. Pedrosa 4. KRJR 5. Melandri. Nicky takes a 25 pt. lead into Sepang in three weeks.

Just goes to show you how important tires are. Hopefully the next race will be kinder to Hayden, but Pedrosa is really close to him now!
