In the "live" standing after qualifying, I'm in the lead.

Russell at P7 is 6 points. Hamilton at P16 is 0 points. So I'm just in the lead right now.

 

Yep. It'll be interesting to see what MB does in the morning. I think they'd be in a better position to do a pitlane start and change the setup of Hamiltons car. But, it's MB, it's unlikely they'll do that.

Watching the GP right now. What's with the cartoonish graphics and a different commentary team?

I have no prob with the all-female commentary team, but the cartoonish graphics seem aimed at educating newcomers to the sport (i.e., explaining what a "puncture" is, the different tire compunds, etc.).

Any thoughts?

F1TV or Sky? I've moved to F1TV to avoid Danica, and I'm not looking back.

 

Think it must've been F1TV. I usually watch Sky with Crofty, Martin Brundle, Ted Kravitz, and Karun Chandhok.

F1TV had the 3 usuals - Alex Jacques, David Coulthard, and James Hinchcliffe.

 

Huh. I wonder WTF I was watching?? It was 3 female commentators, with cartoonish graphics (drivers' names in bright colors of their racing teams, little animated figures of drivers coming onto the bottom right of the screen pumping their fists if they made a successful overtake, plus the aforementioned explanation of basic concepts and terms like "puncture," different tire compounds, etc.) Very weird.

OK, as thoiboi noted above, it was the F1 Kids stream .... which I didn't even know about!!! Good to know that they're making a concerted effort to cultivate the next gen of viewers.

Also, please don't ask me how I get my F1 streams ....

 

The dumbing down of the next generation continues. I didn't need stuff like this when I was a kid.
