A wet start in Spa, hoping the rest of the weekend doesn't follow. We don't need a repeat or the 2021 race.

Waste of an FP1, IMO.
Quali supposed to be today as well, but doubtful they can really run a competitive session in these conditions.
Commentary saying they may defer sessions due to conditions. But forecast shows similar for tomorrow & cloudy for Sunday.
Drivers pretty much all going into quali, blind as far as setup.

Would be upset if I spent F1 $ for tickets & got this, again.

Yeah, but at least no rain forecast for Sunday. The Sprint might be a waste though, or a carnage-fest
.

Apparently (depending on weather situation/outlook etc) they can cancel the sprint related stuff to try to ensure a quali session and race happen.

Both qualy sessions have been fun. I hope the sprint and the GP carry over that excitement.

Perez would've been the good pick, but his form recently didn't make that a confidence inspiring choice. Same the Leclerc, anything Ferrari is a risk.

I was banking on a wet race and a screw up from Perez.

Exactly my thought process, if either Checo or Ferrari can fawk it up, they do.

I'm shocked Sainz ran as long as he did with the sidepod damage & with how much he was getting swallowed up by the field.

Speaking of - I don't think I saw what damage Piastri had that caused him to retire. Did anyone else catch the issue? The front end looked ok, he was just driving really slowly before pulling off.

He got squeezed into the wall at T1 by Sainz. I couldn't tell if it was F or R right side suspension damage.
Sainz looked like he had space to LH on the left, but in the heat of the dash on lap 1, I get how it happened.

Suspension damages aren't always visible.

Perez had extensive sidepod damage in the sprint race. I wonder if that caused his poor form in the sprint.

To F-C's point earlier about McLaren being slow due to banking on a rain set up, see this speed table

Albon at Montreal this year was incredible to watch holding back 3 cars for at least 15 laps

Yet Max's was near the bottom & he was able to pull a huge gap to Perez by the end.

You get DRS everywhere, but no cornering performance

That was data from the sprint. He hit 336 with DRS when he caught/passed Perez in the GP, IIRC.
