2021 Formula One Fantasy League - Sprint Race Poll

So, it's going to be awhile before the next race with a sprint race. I think the next one is Monza. So let's vote on when our deadline for the pick should be made.

Option:
  • Prior to the start of Friday Qualifying. Meaning you get to see the results of P1.
  • Prior to the start of Saturday Sprint Qualifying. Meaning you get to see the results of P1, P2, and Qualifying.
Deadline for submitting your choice is by 11:59pm ET on August 7, 2021. Only those that have played in the fantasy league so far in 2021 can vote. In the event of a tie, I will flip a coin using a random number generator.

I vote for prior to the start of Friday Qualifying.

My opinion: Friday qualifying is the real apple-to-apple comparison with traditional qualifying. The sprint race is essentially the start of the race. I view the race as a two day event, with "half-time" the pause between the end of the sprint race and the start of the full race. If we use the start of the sprint race as the deadline, too much information will be available for the pickers, because the grid will be largely set by then.

+1 vote for prior to Sprint (Friday) Quali.

Shakes things up a bit & makes it a bit tougher, only having FP1 to judge by.

I disagree entirely-the sprint race determines pole for the race. Picks should go in as usual on Saturday before Sprint Qualifying. You can't accurately pick with any decent certainty after just having watched P1, especially now that we are running out of top team/drivers picks.

Prior to Friday qualifying. We've always made our picks prior to the session where lap times actually have consequences (qualifying). So let's stick with that and reevaluate prior to next season depending on whether they continue with sprint qualifying.

Prior to Friday qualifying is the stupidest thing ever. It's the equivalent of picking pole after P1 on a typical non-sprint weekend.

lol, I just hope that it doesn't stick around.

Listen, it was okay but it seemed to rush rush all weekend.

There's nothing better than me coming home from work on a Friday after dealing with a shitty week to 2+ hours of F1 coverage where we can get into the nitty gritty tech stuff.
I love the hell out of it. The build up to Saturday Qualy which sometimes is WAY more thrilling then the races.

Plus, thinking about being there - I love being able to walk around on Friday and watching cars from different areas and listening and enjoying the atmosphere.
Being able to hit vendors etc. Not having to be planted because you'll miss something important.

I have many more points but this is already long enough lol
