I perused the rules but didn't see anything about fastest lap. Maybe I'm blind, dumb or stupid. Or maybe both.

 

You are actually correct.

We talked about it before in past seasons when the fastest lap was introduced. We decided not to award points for fastest lap, but never bothered to actually put it down in the rules itself. I just amended the rules.

 

DR was fast all Friday & Perez was nowhere. Role reversal on Sat/Sun

 

Danny is frustrating. His race pace is well off Landos. If he could get closer, McLaren will have a much easier time securing the #3 spot.

 

DR is a disappointment.

I sometimes wonder if he focuses on success as much as he needs to. I don't know, his public persona is just very .... casual.

 

Can't blame Danny Ricc solely for his Styrian misfortunes, he did gain spots before the car had mechanical issues and by the time he got it sorted out, he was in 13th position.

 

But, his quali performance didn't line up with his FP performance. Hoping he gets some better results this weekend.
Honestly, though, I think he's still adapting his driving to the MCL. I don't think he ever really settled into the Renault & the RBR just suited him really well.
Lando's a tough teammate, too. Kid's got some skill, for sure & isn't cocky about it.
