2019 Formula One Fantasy League
Rules for the 2019 Acurazine Formula One Fantasy League:
Rules:
1. For each race weekend, you must post one Driver and one Team as your picks for the event. The Driver you pick does not have to be from the Team that you also pick for the event. Selection for each race must be posted in the event’s thread prior to qualifying. "Prior to qualifying" means the official start of qualifying posted by the FIA in the calendar prior to the race weekend. This deadline will not shift in the event of delays caused during the race weekend, such as weather related delays.
2. You can only choose the same driver 4 times for the entire season. You can only choose the same team 4 times for the entire season.
3. Points calculation will be as follows: Drivers picked for the event will receive points as classified by the FIA after the race results are confirmed. Teams picked for the event will receive 1/2 points as classified by the FIA after the race results are confirmed.
3.a In the event that the race finishes prematurely and the FIA issues 1/2 points, we will still award full points for the purpose of this competition.
3.b If no points are issued by the FIA for a race, we will not award points as well. In which case, the competitors’ picks for that race will not count toward the three pick limit for drivers, and four pick limit for constructors.
3.c In the event that the FIA makes post race penalties, the statue of limitations is 2 weeks from the end of the event or prior to the start of practice of the subsequent race, whichever comes first.
4. Whoever has the highest points total at the end of the season will be declared the Acurazine Formula 1 Fantasy League Champion. Winning the championship has no value, and will not improve your Points, Reputation score, or bank account. Disputes to the game are not subject to arbitration or mediation.
-------------------------------------------------------
Also if everyone that participates sends me there email address, I will send out an email to everyone before each race weekend as a reminder so we have fewer instances of forgetting to make picks. If you sent me your email address last year, then there is no need to resend them to me.
Goodluck to all participants!

I didn't hear any complaints about the rules last year, so no changes this year.

Are we including the fastest lap point(s)? Only if your driver/team pick gets it? Or a separate pick in addition to?

Well, when I set the rules, the FIA hadn't approved the extra point yet. Hence we will forego this in our championship. Might be an interesting wrinkle for 2020 though.

Sounds good to me. We'd likely need to figure out the best way to implement it anyway (congruent with your race picks, or a separate pick).

^^ if that is the way we do it, it has to be done in conjunction with the FIA rule that the fastest lap winner can only be a driver in the points-i.e., the first 10

And we have yet another lead change. This has been a very exciting and unpredictable championship.

I'm trying something new this year.
Seems like years past, every race I'd do some research, figure out who did well in the past, who was likely to do well that race, look a prior cities to see who's doing what, etc.
And then whomever I'd pick would bin it or otherwise hork up my research.
So I thought I'd pick the best of the least likelies and for sure they'd be in the money.
Buuuut...

A huge reshuffling at the pack sees F-C take the lead for the first time this year. In fact, F-C has not taken the lead since the Hungarian GP of 2016, almost exactly 3 years ago.
