Spending or Saving???

So I am contemplating over buying a stero system for the Cl-S or saving the $1k??? Yes the system will make me happy, but the $1k will make me even more happy!

Ever since I bought the CL-S, besides payments, I have had the mod bug, which is making me piss my money away!! Besides having a girlfriend, that is another story!!!

I know this wasnt the smartest investment to go but I purchased a 91 Integra w/123k miles on it last month for $2k, in over a month that I had it I put over 1000 miles on it!! Only $18 to fill up a week instead of $25 every 4 days on the CL-S. I purchased this because I drive alot between my job and gf, I was averaging 20k miles a year!!! I have 36.5 on the CL-S now, still got 3 1/2 years to pay it off, if I didnt purchase the Integra I would have close to 100k miles by the time I finish paying off the car!!! not saying that this integra is going to last me this long, but if it can save me 20-30k on the CL-S that will be great!! I dont want to buy another car when I am done with the payments for the CL-S!!

I watch on what I spend with my money, besides my car and my girl those are the only 2 I really spend my money on besides monthly bills!!! I dont buy $100 pair of Diesel jeans or $55 von dutch hats, etc....that to me is a waste!! I cut down on going out w/ my friends and doing rounds of drinks which can exced $40-50 a round!

I just think it is time for me to start saving again like I used to! The system can wait, I just might add a sub thanks for listening!!

Any usefull tips???

Save it. Put it away for a rainy day. If it wasn't a big dead blowing $1K on a stereo, you wouldn't be asking.

To me, it's a waste, but I'm not into car audio. Now home audio... I'm a weakling. :P

You should just save the money, put it away for a rainy day, or if you dont feel you will need it, just put it in a retirement account to get that rolling.

I understand the idea of having a second car for miles. I love to drive and did 32k the first year I had my CL. But now with gas prices I will try to cut back, but I am not too worried about that.

You can tell your girlfriend to move closer or alternate between visits who drives to who's place, it might be a good compromise for both of you.

Save the money. Wait 2 to 3 months and if you still want it then buy it. By then you will have saved up some more money.

haha didnt notice, Thanks guys, I think I am going to pass as of now on the audio equip. I have better things to blow on like my cousins wedding, my 2 year anniversary with my gf. Damn !!! I rather be -1k instead of -2k........

Anyway, how do you prevent yourself from not buying "things"??? I hate spending money, thats just me, but I will spend it on my car and maybe on my girl only when she keeps her mouth shut Yes I know it doesnt make sense but I love my car and my girl, but damn, lately I have been spending alot! Time to save! That is it

Thanks for the advice guys!

I almost remember reading somewhere that people spend more money in the spring and summer on stuff they don't need as they have been inside all winter doing nothing.

put all your money away in different places, make it harder to access. I have to call to get money from my mutual funds if I need to buy something, so I rarely tough the money since it takes more time and effort to get access to. I also noticed since I got my master check card I spend more since it is readily available for me to use...but it is all coming out of the bank.

Just keep your ass at home! Don't buy the paper so that you will not see the sale ads. Also, if you do go shopping just take out money for the amount that you are willing to spend. leave the atm and credit card at home. That way if you really want the item then you have to go back home and see if it's worth going all the way back to the store.
Ask yourself..do you really need that item...or do you just want that item???

Take a gas credit card with you in case you have to get gas, but leave all other ways of getting money at home, that will help.
