If I open up a savings with them, how long does it take for me to get the monery transferred from them into my Checking? And I am assuming it is like my Bank's on-line banking format??

Tks.

normally funds are available for withdrawl a week after deposit and your funds get transfered to your linked checking account the next business day

I transfered $$ from ING to my bank & it took 2 days. They say it depends on how slow your bank is. This was Washigton mutual. It was also 2 days to transfer $$ into the ING account.

Also, I believe if you transfer more than $5000 it will take longer for the transaction to clear due to banking regulations. When I moved money from checking to Emigrant I did it in amounts below $5000.

2 days. 1 to process, 1 to show up in my account.

not counting weekends, it usually takes 2-3 days for transfers from ING Savings into my checking.

2-3 days for the transfer. So I keep some money in a savings accounts @ my local bank for 'emergencies', where I can't wait a few days.

I have an autodeposit setup to move xxx dollars into my ing every week. It takes 2-3 for the money to show as removed from my bank, but it instantly shows in my ING account, and two days later you start getting interest on it.

if you dont intend to touch your money long term (i mean longer than 2 years), I dont recomend putting it in an ING savings account, since the yield of 3% isnt high enough. i would put the money instead in an IRA or mutual funds or something.

I have both an IRA and Mutual Funds and both are doing horribly. Will be liquidating the Mutuals (bought 10 years ago and am at break even). IRA is actually a loss so far. Besides, to park money for a stretch, an IRA is a terrible suggestion. If you withdraw that money, you pay shit load for taxe/penalties.

Yeah, for me all I need is a place to stash some money where it is hard to instantly get to, but I can take it out if I need to. When I get a bunch of money in my bank account, I tend to transfer it all into checking and buy a bunch of stuff online, but by keeping it out of my primary bank, I'm less likely to do it. I'm not looking for huge returns, but I'll take the little bit more ING offers.

I know. I have a shit load of money sitting in my Bank CD and I have too much money in my Checking. I am getting worried as it is beginning to start to burn a hole in my pocket.

What a dilemma!!

So anecdotaly, since your mutual funds and IRA are doing bad, every mutual fund or IRA is a bad investment choice??

A Roth IRA is a great way to invest, especially since you dont need to pay taxes on earnings if its used on your first home!
