Hey all - just getting a feel at the moment, but since it sounds like there will be 3 people at my place this weekend doing the drop - is anyone else interested in stopping by the house, or meeting up with us a little later for some wings or something?

I live in Coon Rapids if you wanted to stop by and check out what's going on. Otherwise we could possibly meet just about anywhere (but I would imagine it would at least be on this side of the cities? just a thought)

Let me know as it's this upcoming Saturday. So far it doesn't sound like a huge deal, but I thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone wanted to get together probably for the last time b4 the snow.

All kinds of stuff within 5-10 minutes of my place in Coon Rapids (Got Blaine, and Maple Grove close by too)

Since this is only half my idea (It's not my car we're working on, but it's my house we are meeting at) - It sounds like sometime around 12-12:30 (or sooner) we will start working on lowering the CL. I would say just to be on the safe side, if people want to come over, do so after about 1:30 or 2. This will give us some time to get things setup and get a good start before we have 10 people standing around a car while we try to jack it up.

You know the best thing about winter though? You can set your beer down and it doesn't get warm so fast...lol I will be heating the garage so it shouldn't be too bad.

Post here or PM me if you would like an address and/or directions (heard mention of someone on here needing GPS...lol) I/We will also post the finalized plan once there is one figured out. A plus for us as well is that I live in a cul-de-sac, so we got plenty of parking if this thing turns into the Minnesota meet of the century..lol

(One last thing - this is on Saturday, 12/1 for those that missed it)

Sounds cool. Not sure my Acura navi would find my way there with the old 2002 DVD in it. Not sure what I have going on that say. I need to get around to sticking the "A" in Acura back on the trunk of my car. New winter tires were ordered today (Dunlop Winter Sport M3s).

I know the nav is pretty bad at times, but my house isn't exactly a new spot on the map. You should be fine.

Bring your A on over, and I'm sure there will be a handful of people willing to help duct-tape it back on.

I just got a pleasant suprise today. My Grandpa used to own a car lot (works there part time now that he's retired), and being old and thrifty - found me a winter beater. I don't know much about it except that it's an older blazer, and it's $200. Heck, at that I guess I really don't even care if it's a 4x4 or not. $20 worth of sandbags, I can afford to take out a snowbank or two this winter. That leaves me time to mod my car. hehe

Great to hear. These ultra-high performance tires are no good. Down to about 4/32 on one tire. Last March when I got the car it took me all day just to get it to move outta the parking space. I've always run winter and summer tires so I'm hoping these make as big of difference on this car as they have on past ones.

Nope - no limit. I will have my wife park outside so that we can congregate on both sides of the garage so we don't have to form a ring around the car, but other than that - anyone that wants to come is more than welcome.

Go ahead and give him my address (or he can follow you if that's the plan).

This sounds like it is turning out to be quite a party. It sounds like all we will need is a grill, a football game, some power tools, and we have Man Day!

Where's Tim the Toolman when you need him?

Funny you mentioned that because one of my thoughts were that I have a costco size pack of brats in the freezer. I just got married in October, and got a little over excited buying food for the bachalor party. Burgers was enough.

Isn't there thursday night games on now that turkey day has come and gone? I thought thats when it started. I could tivo a game...lol

I think this should be a pretty good day. I'll probably hold off on the grilling if Saturday is anything like it was today. Holy shit - it got cold quick outside

Hey, congrats on the wedding, and welcome to the club!

and no shit on the cold, my wife and I were remarking about how damn cold it so quickly.

And Razzi, in October a bunch of my friends and I got together for Man Day and went down to the Elko racetrack for 'the Eve of Destruction'. There was lots of beer and grunting going on while the jet-powered firetruck melted a schoolbus. IT. WAS. AWESOME.

I actually wanted to goto Elko that day, but I was on my honeymoon. I love elko, but only get there once or twice a year. Last time I was there Ibelieve it was August - they had the trailer races that day.

They're saying 6-9 inches on the way for Saturday. You all ready? (I guess this means I ought to fill up the blower for the year).

Good thing I'm getting that blazer today. $200, and it's even 4 wheel drive. Not the prettiest thing, but it helps the TL stay that way a little longer.

Hmmm... I may be the first person on AZ to have his driveway plowed by a dropped CL... what do you think about that Dan? lol

I guess that means that I am riding with Dan this weekend, I'm leaving my baby at home in the warm garage.

I drove it around last night and it was complaining about the cold the whole time. And my car wasn't driving very well either.

My brother was going to try to get me in to have my winter tires put on today but they were way too busy. I'm gonna drop the car off with him tomorrow and hope he can get time to put them on. I don't even know if I'll be able to get outta the garage to get there though.

yeah all them fools showin up all of a sudden when it's 2 feet of snow outside.

for those who couldnt make the "meet" be glad, all you missed out on was back breaking, hand numbing work on top of frost inducing cold. but there were some pretty good moments.
the front end went off without a hitch, a bit slow cause of the goddamn spring compressors but we got it to work in the end.
the rear was where all the drama begins.

dan goes and cuts slices his finger on a rotor and opens up a nice gash. duct tape and quick thinking got dan a waterproof band aid.
josh gets down and starts grunting away and we all winced at the 20 or so times he suddenly screamed out in pain. standin behind him i saw this wisp of smoke rising above his head, i thought it was his breathing but it was too steady. so he turns around and we can all see that his head is steaming and sendin off smoke signals. at that point none of us woulda been any surprised if josh either suddenly went super saiyan or spontaneously combusted.

then we had a retarded rusted bolt and we stripped the socket, we went over to brian's neighbor to use an impact wrench, only to find he wasnt home. so we got 4 dudes standin out in a blizzard with 2 sets of shock and spring. for making us look like we enjoy the cold, we sent brian to his dad's house in his "4x4"
hour and a half pass and no one knows where brian is, so we sit around his heater, which is nothing short of a jet engine, im sure if you tossed a ricer civic wing on it it'd take off, drinkin beer and readin about some douche named tucker max.

brian comes back from his sister's place and got the bolt off, we proceeded with the installing with some unorthodox methods. dan stands on the rotor while i hold his ass and josh grunts and shoves the shock in.
and we lowered that shit, and dan's car no longer had any gap...at all.
so then we proceeded to the highlight of my day, mead. good shit
