As Anil know I booked off work for June 6,7,8,9. I just found my passport today and it expires July 2015.

Hey guys have a question for all you locals with an aspec kit on your 3g TL. I have some front bumper damage (pictured below) I was wondering if this could be covered up with the aspec front lip without replacing the whole bumper. If so, does this damage affect any mounting of the lip (at what points does the front lip mount to) Thanks guys!!

 

Yessir...an ASPEC kit should be able to cover that up

 

^^Will it be all right to mount with the hole right where it is? Does it need to be screwed down in that place? I just don't want to order it if its not going to work

 

04-06 aspec kits did not need to be screwed in....07-08 models (base and type S), a hole had to be drilled in the bumper to put the aspec on...


here are some pix of my 2005 5AT, you can make an educated guess if it will cover it (I hate to say it, that it will cover it, and it doesnt )

Are you gonna get the whole aspec lip kit, or just the front piece?

Have you priced getting the bumper fixed/replaced? Might not be too much more to get the bumper fixed than to get the aspec lip.

 

No I priced the bumper it's roughly 700 painted I was just going to use this as an excuse to get the whole kit, but don't want to commit if it's not going to cover up the hole

 

Still love that first shot, Anil.

 

even if it were 200 bucks to paint the bumper, I would still suggest the ASPEC kit...if you want pix of the front lip from different angles, do let me know


but do inquire dealerships, from what I understand, they dont make certain color aspec kits anymore...

Allright, so I have been trying to do some research on my damage and I've gotten two different answers. I talked to Hendrick Acura and they said two of their techs said it would cover the damage, but they are not 100% positive. I also talked to a body shop and they say it would not cover it what should I do here any ideas??

 

Have you tried meeting up with one of us that has the kit on and compare it side by side to see if it would cover it?

Sorry no Amsterdam. Anyone is welcome to come with me though. Right now it's primarily Italy and Greece I'll be going to. Depending on schedule I may throw in a couple days at either Austria or Switzerland.

I need to get everything figured out asap so I can get the trip booked. I'll be working on it this weekend in addition to a bunch of other stuff.
