Job is relocating me to Ohio/WV

Hey guys, my job is transferring me to the DuPont plant on the Ohio River, its in west virginia. After some research I have realized Ohio is a better place to live. A plus side is I'll actually have cell phone service in Ohio, Verizon is really blotchy in WV...

Anyway, is there anyone around that Area? Anything I should look into as I'm moving this way?

Some questions I have are:
I have a DUI from nj does that effect what plates I get for my car?
Can windows be tinted?
How is car insurance in Ohio?

I'm from NJ and the laws there are pretty strict can't have any tint on the front and it would be nice to eventually get tint.

Anything else you can think of that can help me would be great. I'm moving on my own, it would be great to get some friends before I make this move

Ohio tint limits are fair from a safety standpoint.

Front Windows 50% or lighter and nothing on the front wind shield
Rear windows can be any limit you wish.

Depending on where you are you can get away with much darker. I have 35% on my wind shield, 5% on all doors and rear.

You can sometimes get away with no front plate as well, again depending on your county.

If you have a DUI in Ohio you get yellow plates and pay a higher cost for those usually as well as inflated insurance costs. I would call the DMV up and ask about the plate issue, if you end up needing DUI plates, I wouldn't suggest trying to run just one.

Insurance should be similar. It's mostly based upon driving record, age and vehicle cost anyways. I think location and demographics play a small role in the overall cost, but I could be wrong.

I'm in Cincinnati, cops are pretty harsh in most parts of the city here.

you dont get yellow " party plates " unless theres a reason. not just a single DUI. you need to have either two or more or a reason for them to give them to you. I have plenty friends with one DUI and non of them have yellow plates. in columbus you can tint about 30 percent and get away with it, not sure about windshield though never seen anybody with it personally but I know its illegal.
