Anyone help put with installing iPOD adapter in MD?
Hey, guy. I been meaning to buy an Adapter for a very long time. I know the basics and can probably do it my self, but it would be nice if someone can lend a hand.
I got a 04 TL NAVI-6MT
Let me know.
Thanks guys.

I'm not in MD but it's not hard to do at all. Are you looking at a specific kit for the adapter like iSimple, USAspec, Hon...something extra lol, etc etc? Location in MD (B-more, Silver Spring, Annapolis etc)?
I just purchased an Isimple peripheral, its coming in a few days. I live in Arlington, VA. I didn't buy anything extra, do I need anything else? Plan to expand setup later on with backup cam and/or a dvd.
I have the iSimple in my TSX. I knew what I was looking for so took about 5 mins to do the install, nothing hard at all. Idk much about TL's or their layout but if you need help maybe we can meet up. As far as extras, you don't need anything. Everything should come in the package for you ready to install and be using it.
Everyone recommends removing the battery connection but I didn't. I rarely do it unless I'm working with something that I feel will be a danger. I was an electrical engr major so know when I'm pushing the package lol. The installation is simple and not something that deals with a lot of juice so you don't have to. If you do, be sure you have your radio code on hand or else you won't be able to test it out.

Did this happen ? I live in MD and am looking for something for an 05 TL w/ Navi. This is all new to me but surely two of us could follow a guide online
Otherwise I am going to Best Buy, the two installers I talked to today knew their shit.

I'd be careful with installers at BB. Not all of them, mind you, but a lot of them I've seen do very crappy work and are very careless in installs. Granted the adapter is an easy install but they could F up your interior and what not if they're not careful. If you trust them then go for it, just a word of warning. This can be said of a lot of ppl who do installs but I see it to be very more common among BB installs. I've seen so many that me and/or a friend of mine fixed and it's just insane at what you see some of them do.
I just installed mine on Sunday. It was hard for me not to remove part of the middle console. So what I did was:
1. Removed the left aluminum molding/trim.
2. Removed the cover under the steering wheel (the one with VSA)
3. Removed the left middle console panel, closest to my right foot.
--> I have done this so many times it became easier.
from there,
4. Used my 2 pointer fingers to remove XM (A*) harness behind radio.
5. Snaked the Peripheral harness (B*) from the small opening used if nothing was removed.
6. Attached A* to B*,
7. Attached B* to the PX (I'm pulling things from memory) device.
8. Before I attached the IPOD adapter that was included in the Peripheral, I snaked it from inside the middle console, out the nearest exit in the driver side middle console so I can grab it and run it to the Peripharal near the gas pedal area. I hid most of the wiring after install by pushing it back under the Left bottom of the middle console, nearest the carpet.
9. Mounted the device where others have been mounting theirs, close to the gas pedal. This currently worries me and I might relocate it later.
The hardest and longest part was trying to do it without removing any part of the middle console. People have done it, I just cant. After that, it was easier for me.
If anyone has questions as well, shoot me a PM. I might be able to help as soon as I get back to DC/MD/VA area this weekend.
Btw, thanks for all the help guys!
