Description:
Hello everyone,
I'm selling my beloved 2006 Acura TL A-Spec AT with Navigation. Please be sure to READ this listing because the majority of your questions should be answered here.
The vehicle is Anthracite Metallic (grey) in color with Ebony (black) leather interior and carbon fiber trim. The vehicle has under 152,000 miles. I am the ORIGINAL owner and bought this car brand new in 2006 from an Acura dealership. The vehicle is an "A-Spec package", which was the top offering of 2006 (UA6). Anthracite Metallic is a classy, versatile and universally loved color. The black interior makes it the best combination because all of it has aged well. The car already comes fully loaded. The navigation system was the only extra option offered and this vehicle has it. The car is front wheel drive and features a 3.2 liter V6 engine with 258hp. Transmission is a 5-speed automatic.
I've been an active member on this forum since 2006. I'm one of the OG 3G guys on the forum. As a matter of fact if it weren't for this forum I probably wouldn't have owned this car as long as I have; or even bought the car in the first place! Initially, I wasn't too crazy about the stock TL. I was actually leaning to buy the 3 series coupe. But once acurazine showed me the potential of how a TL could transform with some mods I fell in love! I got a very clear vision of all the things I wanted to do before I even purchased the car. And what a joy it was to piece this dream together, one by one, and bring it into reality! Within about 2-3 yrs. it all turned out EXACTLY as I wanted. My original plan was to own the car for just 5 yrs, but once I fulfilled my "modding goals", I got attached to the car. I went all out on this car and invested more than I have with any other vehicle I've owned. (around $30k in mods!!) I attended so many meets in the Chicago/NY/NJ area. So that "5yr plan" has now extended into an amazing 12-year journey. This was my first brand new car. Up till then, this has been the best car I've ever owned by far. Very few cars do so many things so well. It's been good to me, so I've been good to it. I've been saying for 3yrs now that "I'm going to sell it soon"; well I guess the day is coming around finally. So it is with great hesitation and procrastination that I put this car up for sale.
Usually you have to convince someone to buy, but I think in this case you'll have to convince me to sell! The best person to buy a car from is an enthusiast, trust me. Anyone who buys this car won't regret it.
This car has ALWAYS been garaged with great effort and expense. Hardly ever parked in the street, used in winter or rain. Maintenance has been tip-top with no expense spared. The car has been absolutely babied it's whole life. Washed 2x month, Clay/polish/wax 4x a year. Leather conditioning/Carpets UV treated and cleaned 2x year. Every person who sits in the car says it "feels/smells like new" and can't believe it's real age. Pictures do it not justice; you really have to see it in person to appreciate it. Non-smoker car. No one has ever been allowed to even eat/drink in the car. Paint and leather is in good condition. No leather rips. All power/electronic equipment is operational. Although many owners have experienced "cracked dashboards" or "Bluetooth failure", luckily this car has had none of these issues. Although the car has had a number of performance mods, I've always been a cautious, mature, safe and easy driver that never raced or treated the car harshly. This vehicle was a regular daily driver and there have been no major accidents. I have all the original paperwork, receipts (very extensive), service history, owner's manual, and window sticker. I have 2 keys/remotes and the extra valet key.
All fluids or maintenance parts that have ever been used on the vehicle have been of the best quality, never looking at the cost. The vehicle has ALWAYS run on 93+ octane top tier premium gasoline, Mobil One Extended Performance synthetic oil/filter, Amsoil power steering fluid, Redline transmission fluid, Motul brake fluid, Prestone coolant, NGK spark plugs and no less. Every single replacement part ever used has always been OEM Acura only.
This vehicle has completed its "105k timing belt service" with a tune up at 92k miles. The vehicle has had 3x3 transmission fluid changes with 3rd/4th pressure switches replaced regularly. The vehicle had a complete transmission tear down and rebuild at 123k miles by Gold Seal Transmissions. Gold Seal is the best transmission builder in the tri-state area and all known weak areas of the transmission were fortified using strengthened components. On the same visit the engine motor mounts were also replaced with OEM replacements. No other major service has been required by the vehicle, it has run flawless otherwise. It's never left me stranded even once and drives like a new car.
The tires are only 1.5yrs old and have only 12k miles on them. They are hardly worn and have 9/32nds of tread left. They are +1 sized (245 width) all-season W rated. Tie-rod ends had been replaced at the same time. Wheel alignment performed every 20k miles. The battery is also 1.5yrs old and still like new. Full brake service with new cross-drilled rotors and A-Spec red brake pads was performed 35k miles ago, plenty of life left.
This vehicle has had over $30k in tasteful modifications and upgrades over its life. Some of these mods have been removed but many still remain and make this vehicle an excellent value. Here is a list of what is included with the sale:
· OEM Acura A-Spec underbody spoiler kit - The bodykit is custom trimmed with 3M Di-Noc carbon fiber, The rear underbody spoiler is upgraded with the Type-S A-Spec style (Exhaust outlets are wider so it can accommodate quad exhaust if you'd like.)
· OEM Acura Type-S rear lip spoiler - This is taller than the A-Spec rear lip spoiler.
· CustomCarGrills diamond mesh aluminum grille - The mesh was powder-coated black. The center and lower bumper inlets were completely custom fabricated for a much more aggressive and unique look.
· c-Mod custom center grill insert - for the main center grill.
· OEM Acura A-Spec 18 x 8.5" "Gunmetal" wheels - I sought out these rare wheels because they were only made in 2004 with this unique color. They are also wider than A-Spec wheels that were made from 2005-2008.
· OEM Acura Type-S rear license plate panel - with OEM "black chrome" strip.
· OEM Acura body side molding
· OEM Acura carbon fiber steering trim wheel - this was an optional accessory steering wheel that includes carbon fiber inserts that match the interior perfectly.
· TEIN Basics coil-over suspension - These give the car totally transformed handling. The coil-overs were perfectly set at a 2.5" drop but they are height adjustable for your liking with provided tools.
· Progress Rear Sway Bar - This helps the car corner with very little lean. A perfect combination with the coil-overs, it resulted in a huge improvement to handling.
· Unorthodox Racing lightweight crank pulley - helps with throttle response and the free revving nature of the engine.
· R1 Concepts cross-drilled rotors - with Brembo caliper covers.
· OEM Acura A-Spec brake pads - aka "red pads" specially engineered for the A-Spec package.
· Techna-fit Stainless Steel brake lines - for improved firm pedal feel.
· 3M FX-HP metallic window tint with moleskin 30% sides, 20% rear/front sunscreen
· PIAA Super Sporza Silicone wiper system - simply the best wipers available.
· Custom black/cleared headlights with "color mod" - featuring custom fabricated Oznium LED amber signal strips.
· Autolumination 48LED front "switchback" towers with load resistors.
· Umnitza CCFL angel-eye halos with ELWire metal CCFL inverters
· Honda Inspire Foglight mod with 6000K HIDs with independent switch.
· OEM white LED front sidemarkers mod - amber LEDs changed with white.
· Rockblockers 20% tint rear tail-light and side marker lens protection film
· OEM fog-light "manual over-ride" switch mod - This allows you to control the fog lights (on the turn signal stalk) independently of the headlights. (While also not allowing you to keep the lights on with the ignition off.)
· Footwell blue LED strips - These strips subtly light up the footwell of the front and rear seats. There is an independent switch to control them.
· Dynomat 50 mil sound proofing - the entire rear deck, trunk and trunk-lid has been covered in case you would like to install a subwoofer in the trunk for the future.
· Pyle 7.2" PLVHR72 7.2" widescreen headrest monitors - These monitors were custom fabricated into the OEM headrests. (At the moment they remain installed but are disconnected and pending sale. If the car sells before the headrests, the monitors will go with the car. If the monitors sell first then the headrests will be swapped with OEM replacements.)
· Headrest logos - brushed aluminum finish
· Alarm/Memory seat LEDs - replaced with blue LEDs
The Acura TL is not as commonly seen on the roads of TX as it is in the northeast. Most southern vehicles of this age usually end up in poor cosmetic condition due to the extreme heat/fading to the paint, interior, headlight lenses etc. I challenge you to find another 3rd generation Acura TL that is in better condition in all of DFW area. This vehicle is always parked in a garage and never allowed to bake outside. The 3GTL has been considered among the most universally loved designs of Acura's history. It's up there with the Legend, Integra and the NSX. This is a rare opportunity to acquire an original owner, well maintained Acura TL with tasteful mods. Be prepared to receive attention, compliments and envy all day wherever you go. Honda products are known for longevity and reliability. This car will last for 100s of 1000s of miles if maintained as well as it's been all these years.
The only reason I'm selling this car is simply because I wanted a change. I've already bought another car so there's no real reason to keep 2. (although I keep getting 2nd thoughts about it and tempted to keep both.) This car was purchased brand new from an Acura dealer with cash so there are no liens on this vehicle. I have the CLEAN title in hand. Absolutely no rebuilt/junk/stolen/salvage/flooded title guaranteed. I'm asking $7800 considering it's unique condition and all the extra equipment that's included with the car.
The vehicle is located near Rockwall, TX. In order to check out the vehicle in person you must come to our location. If you opt to have the vehicle delivered, then the expense and responsibility will be up to the buyer.
If this ad is still up, the car is still available. No trades. Serious buyers only, no lowballs. Thank you for looking.
That is one hell of a clean car. If it was manual id be driving to see you this weekend.
Good luck with the sale. Your gonna miss it!
This is the longest I've ever owned a car, so I wanted to make sure my replacement was something more of a leap than just a step up. I wanted something that would do everything the TL could do but better, and that's a tall order because the TL can really do so much. So after much deliberation I decided it had to be an M5. Needless to say that car makes me miss the TL a LITTLE bit less
My friends say "You must not miss that TL at all!" Obviously the M5 is a different animal than the TL, but truth be told, every time I come back to drive the TL it still impresses me! Still drives tight, smooth, strong and the quality build is evident. So even though my friends don't believe me, I can tell you that even after all these years the TL can surely hold its own. I will miss it for sure!

It's been about 10 yrs since we had those awesome NY/NJ meets. Miss those days. It really was the peak of the 3G AZine meets. Sucks that nearly all the OG owners have moved on. Acura isn't what it once was so we're all into different brands now.
I'm in Dallas now, if you're ever around hit me up!
I would have already bought the car if I was not an international student who can’t legally work more than 20 hours a week.
I have always been a fan of your TL. Hell, I would even drive 1000 miles one way to TX to just look at the car but that would just hurt my savings, since I am saving for a well-maintained Type-S.
I currently own a 2008 TL @ 145k miles which I bought a year ago @ 127k to restore. It was a mistake, my mistake, since the car has a lot more problems than I knew.
Good luck with the sale. Hope you find a good home for her, just like yours.

Still have my TL. 13 years of ownership so far. I just had the paint professionally corrected and ceramic coated with Nanolex S3ID HD (4 year protection) all done by Detailers Domain. I have a progress thread, not sure what you saw last but if it's been a few years, i've done much more to it since. I only drive the car about 50 miles or so a year. I don't attend any Acura meets, if I go to any shows, they are paid shows. I'd love to take you up on your offer if I ever pass through!
