I have had my RSX for about a year(98k when I bought it, 125k now) and at first it would shift hard if I just put it in Drive. I just shifted it manually for about 25,000 miles and it worked ok (all on the Thruway). Lately it whirs for a second then go's into 5th gear. It does not slip at all, nor does it come out of gear. I changed the transmission fluid at 99k, a transmission shop told me that was a mistake because the new fluid cleaned the lacquer off of everything and is causing it to get worse? It had never been changed before. I just added an additive to it to help the thing shift better but it did no good. I have read that pressure switches and or sensors that are sticking can cause this. Anyone have any ideas?
