Very interesting. Figured they wouldn't go without an affordable coupe forever. Something to save my money for instead of sitting on the fence about an RDX -- wish I could justify having two vehicles, but Suze Orman would bitch-slap me.

Yeah, but that had been the case for twenty years of Integra / RSX. Why did they kill RSX -- were sales that bad? Doesn't make sense competitively when every other luxury brand has a coupe and/or hatchback.

I'm glad they're bringing back an "entry level luxury coupe". The Acura nameplate doesn't seem complete without it.

Sales apparently decreased quite a bit in the last year of the RSX. instead of canceling it the should have just stopped it for 1 year and brought back an all new model.

I hate auto-rumors. I stopped getting my hopes up from rumors a while ago.

If it were to be true... Id expect the platform to match the current accord coupe. Not a small vehicle like the rsx was. just my theory.

The accord has a rear suspension subframe setup in a way capable of rear axle drive shaft.... I have a feeling the accord was at one point engineered to support AWD but never evolved as such in the final product. Maybe the new rumor is true and the RSX replacement will have AWD.

I doubt it will be a civic platform.

I read quite a while back that acura dropped the RSX to try to focus more toward the higher end cars like beemer and audi which they felt their NA entry level coupe wasn't doing well enough. Whether or not that's true, your guess is as good as mine. I would be happy if they brought back a sporty coupe though, hopefully with a little more power to give it that little extra edge, maybe comparable to the s2000, that would be pretty cool.

I'd love to see a smaller Acura coupe. Don't know if it would happen though.

I'd have loved a 2-door variant of the TSX ... I test drove a 2006 RSX and 2005 TSX and went with a 2006 TSX (CPO; i couldn't find a CPO RSX < 1000 miles from me that i liked).

But ... Acura management has to fix a few things. Their quality and support issues with the 2GEN TSX. And that gawd awful design scheme for 2009/2010. :P

Cranio-rectal inversion is difficult to cure, I wish Acura all the best with their recovery.

Given Honda's new de-emphasis on luxury and movement towards fuel efficient low emission vehicles I don't think this is too far fetched. It wouldn't even surprise me to see the Prelude make a come back.
