Civic Si version looks way better and the Civic Type R will be the Belle of the Ball. Unfortunately the Integra is the ugly, high maintenance sister. Acura, you failed. I am out.

They are hoping the name will carry it, hence, imposed on front and rear bumpers and emblazoned down the sides. Shoulda just called it ILX II, kinda like the Mustang 2

Agreed. The 'Integra' name should never be associated with with this version of the 11G Civic.

I suspect that the "Integra" addition to Acura's lineup has more to do with maintaining/improving CAFE average for the brand than committing to produce a viable compact sports sedan. (Each of the models in the brands current lineup now makes for terrible fuel economy.)

So in that regard, it has a possibility of minimal success but, IMHO it's not going to appeal to enthusiasts any more than the original ILX 6MT . That said, the new Civic Si looks to be the best version to date based on reviews and may have already relegated the new Integra to irrelevance.

And therefore, if this new Integra is not the same success of the past, decision makers at Honda will say "See, I told you so. We should have design a SUV as the entry level model."

The similarity is striking....and disturbing. Makes me wonder if the next Acura SUV will resemble the Element.

Rather than make the Integra irrelevant, I think the goodness of the new Si makes it extremely relevant because it will offer two important things the Si does not--a hatch, and presumably luxury features like heated seats that are absent from the Si. Many Si enthusiasts were fervently hoping for an Si hatch in this generation, and the Integra is it. Assuming it drives as well as the Civic Si, I think it will appeal to Honda fanboy enthusiasts, and perhaps grab some sales from the GTI. Then, the additional luxury and AT option should allow it to appeal to those drawn to the ILX as a less expensive, more reliable alternative to the Germans. I doubt it will sell in huge numbers, but the development costs are relatively low so it doesn't need to sell in huge numbers to be worthwhile for Honda/Acura.

The original ILX 6MT didn't appeal to enthusiasts because it was a poorly-sorted car. I was interested in a smaller, lighter car than my 2010 TSX, so I tested a 6MT ILX upon its release, and was disappointed to find terrible suspension tuning and chassis dynamics. It was not even remotely close to my TSX in those respects. I realize it was improved over its lifespan, but that early ILX was a dog IMO.

Acura should stick with the 3 letter name and call it the DOA.

The lettering on the doors and color choice does the concept absolutely no favors. Any word yet on what motor they will be pairing with the 6MT? If it's the 1.5 this is going to be a bigger flop than the ILX.

1.5 litre turbo from the Honda Civic. Acura gets Honda hand me downs. Should be the other way around. It better not have exactly the same horsepower because that we be just plain lazy.

Honda isn’t developing any more new ICE engines for the whole brand. The last newly developed engine was the 3.0T for the Type S brand. Reason why we didn’t see the 2.0T as the base engine was because that engine will go into the Integra Type S.

2.0 litre turbo would be something to talk about!

I'd rather talk about a K24 turbo in a Integra Type R

Yes that would be boss. It would almost be too much horsepower. It would make 360 hp easy. Is the Integra going to be SH-AWD? It better be.

Wait! Too much horsepower? Back in the late '70's my daily driver had 750 hp. At least K24t would make up for some of the Crosstour ugliness.
