New Acura Owner Please Help!!

Okay so I’ve always had trucks with the exception of my little Toyota Camry which I hated. Always had a thing for Acura’s but never actually got one. Recently I found the RSX base model while looking for a small manual car, I figured I could always just do a manual conversion. Well I haven’t gotten around to it and I’ve been pretty content with the slap shifter. When I bought it the guy told me that every once in a while the green “D” light will flash. It doesn’t effect the way the car drives/shifts whatsoever. Said he thought it might be a sensor. I recently noticed while using the slap shifter it only blinks if you shift later (around 4-5) RPMs. But while in 4th gear can reach those higher RPMs without the light flashing. I also feel like there’s a lag if you shift at higher RPMs.. opinions? Obviously manual conversion ASAP. Other than that any ideas to help it run better in the mean time?
also, where should the car idle?? I feel like the idle is low.. but only after warming up!

Blinking "D' light indicates transmission failure soon. I would suggest changing out the transmission fluid in the meantime, 3x3 with Honda DW-1.
