Nats007 K24 JRSC Type S

PROGRESSION OF MY DC-5... Figured I should have a thread in here if anyone is interested in the DC-5 on AcuraZine.

Cliff Notes: Purchased 2006, supercharged 2012, k24a2 swapped 2014, meth injected 2016. My car was last dyno tuned at 268whp/213wtq at 5psi at 7600rpm in 2015.

As of 2017, I started to learn how to tune after installing a smaller boost pulley and a prototype mercracing inlet. Based on the pulley swap, new inlet, and introduction of water methanol injection, preliminary results are below:

Est. power is 283whp/230wtq at 9psi with no meth. With meth, est. power is 301whp/231wtq at 9psi. Also note, the second half of the graph plots AFR (bold lines) and IGN (dotted lines).

I'm still in the process of tuning, but so far the car feels great! Current bay setup as follows:

Current setup

Current setup with hydro power steering delete using KTuned EP3 adjustable idler pulley and new SRI filter

New filter with VStack

After battling trying to find a belt for weeks, got this Idler pulley and was able to reuse my existing belt.

Comparison of old filter with new. I had to modify my intake arm to accommodate the bigger filter

Finished my tune last month and currently power est follows: 304whp/237wtq @ 8.5psi. will try and get official numbers in the near future.

Update in mods that affected tune: 1000cc vs 500cc nozzle for water/methanol injection, new Blox air filter + VStack, and power steering delete.

Completed an oil change and finally switched to synthetic. Turns out my battery finally died... Was able to get ~7 years out of it. Quick shot after the oil change

Jan 2023 - resurrection

Back in OCT 2019, I was self tuning and somehow the tune forced the AEM water/meth injection to kick on during starting the car. Motor was hydrolocked.

Car sat for 3 years. Finally had time to rebuild.

AUG 22... off to shop.

DEC 22. New 2008 JDM K24A motor installed with my JRSC. First start in 3 years.

Back home before New Years.

Minor surging issue. Had to physically adjust the TPS as Kpro readings were off.

JAN 23. First car wash in 3+ years.

Car feels great to drive again. I don't miss the lack of power steering, but the whine makes up for it. Still need tires, suspension update, some body work, and repaint.
