I painted my car again, this time properly!
It's been a long, hard road, and I still have way more mods to do! This is an 02 model, bought way back in 01 and converted. The car used to be lambo grey, I think I posted pics in the "best rsx pix" thread long time ago.
The lambo paint job was terrible. I paid very little and with the amount of things I had to repair (ie trim pieces broken, things oversprayed, runs EVERYWHERE), it would've been cheaper if the painter had done nothing at all.
So I learned my lesson: you get what you pay for. So I a million overtime hours later and I dropped my car off at Galpin Autosports (of Pimp my Ride fame, though they are trying hard to shed that fast and furious image).
Here is a flattering pic of my car when it was grey

and here it is now. hope you enjoy!

thanks! it was a lot but it was worth it
my reasoning was that I had a car in terrible condition body wise, but perfect condition mechanically. At this point I could've sold it for next to nothing, and with the 9k I would not have bought any car I would have been happy with (I wanted an 08 TL), and I could forget about ever modding it at all. Not to mention I'd be paying two insurances.
So since I always wanted a project car anyway, I devoted my time and resources to restoring my RSX. I'm happy with the results and I drive a very unique car now

thanks!
the grey was my first choice, but the pain of getting a car back in terrible condition and having to stare at it in my driveway (I drove it maybe a dozen times in the year I was restoring it) just left me a little sore at the color lol. I wanted something bright and happy next
haha I know I know. literally, the DAY after I decided on the car color and wheel color/style, this set of rims brand new went up for sale, in the exact color, width, size, offset (18x9 +30), and style (concave) that I wanted. and it was HALF PRICE of a new set! so I figured why not, and the difference in price between these wheels and, say, volks, allowed me to do the conversion and lip kit
maybe real wheels next year

Well I guess $9G is still cheaper than an 08 TL so you've saved money there, sort of. As long as you're happy, that's all that matters. And it sounds like you're ecstatic, so it all works out
It does look amazing

thanks! it's called hyperblack. i think the exact color even with the same name can vary from company to company, so to be more specific, it's rota's hyperblack

thanks! they're 18x9 +30. the pillars are wrapped in 3M DI-noc film.
thanks! yeah it was a pain repairing/replacing not only what he broke but what he oversprayed on (thank god for claybars btw. how in the world do you spray someone's interior and calipers??). Driving this thing is nerve wracking hahah
